After doing that, I cropped off the artist’s legs in order for the image to fit my desired position for the contents page.

Above is my editor’s signature for the editor’s note on the contents page. The image on the left contains the signature with the white background intact. I then edited the image, as seen in the right image, in which the signature is without the background.
