While searching for college magazines I came across a website called College.com, it has its own online magazine called U.Magazine. I found that the main key features and cover lines were based on what the typical student may be interested in for example: Festivals, Latest film releases and CD’s, latest technical gadgets and interviews with relevant celebrities. To complement the general theme of the magazine I have found they include things relevant to college life and great information for all students. All main images are either of celebrities, current movies or games. The general lay out is very plain and repetitive. Large Masthead, small sky line, main image and a few cover lines.I think this would appeal to the student audience as its an easy read, about relevant times and would stand out to its audience if placed on a shelf.

Inspiration:

I’ve taken inspiration for my Magazine cover from mainly the online U.Magazine. The main image and small cover lines are key to my design they’re simple but still stand out on a shelf. I have also taken some inspiration from music and video magazines as these generally aim to a teenage market (students). All these magazines again have a very plain lay out, large image little cover lines to relevant times and a stand out masthead.

I found my text on Dafont.com The Your is of a text called College and the ‘College’ is Harabara Hand. I took the Y of the your first cut it out and enlarged it, I then put the our from the your to the Y and its given me the Large font size I wanted it to start with. I did the same with the ‘college’ and merged it all together.
