The Brief: Take the existing Salon

existing Stylist Stations, but change

the finishes. Add the signature

Colour Bar at the Backwash area,

while designing the Back Bar to fit

into the existing space between the

basins and the wall.

The Brief: Take the existing Salon

JINGLES SALON LOCATION: BENMORE GARDENS,

JOHANNESBURG

The Brief: Design the Salon to be a

Kerastase Salon. Add a Retail unit

that will be a focus point from the

outside of the Salon, and place the

CoIour Bar at the back of the Retail.

The Stylist stations had to be plain,

but stain resistant. Add a Nail bar to

the Salon to make it multifunctional.

At the Backwash area, add the

signature Back Bar to fit into the

existing space between the basins

and the wall.

Upstairs we had to place a table

where the customers can sit while

they are waiting for the colour to

take on their hair.

MARIO’S SALON LOCATION: GREEN POINT, CAPE TOWN

The Brief: The Salon needs to be

changed to a Kerastase Salon. Take

the existing Salon and add to

treatment room. One treatment

room needs to be white and the

other treatment room black. Also,

add a promo tables in the front of

the Salon as well as square shelves

against the wall which will act as I

room divider. Opposite the

Reception Desk a Nail bar was

added.

At the back of the Salon, a Color

Bar was added to act as a

decoration but also as storage for

the various hair Colour bottles.

FRANCO’S INTERNATIONAL LOCATION: HYDE PARK, JOHANNESBURG

The Brief: Design the Salon to be a

Kerastase Salon. Add promo tables

in the front of the Salon as well as

Merchandising units at the front of

the Salon for product display. I had

to come up with a design to display

all the different Hair Colours as well

as add different hair cutting stations

for both male & female.

The back of the Salon is dedicated

to the Men’s section.

The Brief: Create a complete stand

that consist out of L’OREAL

cosmetics, Skin Care as well as Men’s

Care. There also needs to be a

make-up section where clients can

get make over.

We were also given a budget.

Requirements: Go out to site and

get the correct dimension. Strip out

the existing unit and install new

drywall, lights as well as the various

units.

My Responsibilities: draw up the

Technical Drawings as well as the

necessary workshop drawings to

build the units. I also had to do high

quality renderings on which we got

approval.

This unit is due for installation at the

end of May, beginning June 2016

L’OREAL PARIS logo and rebated

lines. Bulkhead to be sprayed

Satin Gold to match all previous

units. 3mm Opal Perspex U050

to be applied to the inside of the

illuminate L’OREAL PARIS logo

from the back. Bulkhead to

include downlights. Downlights to

be sprayed Sating Gold to match

Bulkhead finish.

CENTRAL MAKEOVER COUNTER: Corner counter design, constructed on two sides of the column.

Counter base constructed from MDF to be sprayed Satin Gold, to match bulkhead, and finished off with a

White stone top. 3mm Opal Perspex U050 to be applied to the inside counter base and LED strip lighting

to illuminate L’OREAL PARIS logo from the back.

COSMETICS UNIT: Sprayed High Gloss Black with interchangeable visual.

PROMO UNIT: Sprayed High Gloss Black with interchangeable visual.

SKIN CARE UNIT: Sprayed High Gloss White with interchangeable visual.

MEN’S EXPERT: Sprayed High Gloss Black with interchangeable visual.

The Brief: Create a 4000mm complete

L’OREAL Wallbay that consist out of

Face Care, Hair Colour and Hair Care. I

also had to do a 1200mm Men’s Expert

unit.

Requirements: Go out to site and get

the correct dimension. Strip out the

existing unit and install the new unit.

My Responsibilities: draw up the

Technical Drawings as well as the

necessary workshop drawings to build

the units. I also had to do high quality

renderings in order to get approval.

This unit is due for installation at the

end of May, beginning June 2016

The Brief: Create High quality

renderings to submit to the client to

show what we think the space should

look like. I was given the Technical

Drawings of the Bank and some

inspirational images of what the client

likes and would like to incorporate into

the Bank.

I had to do renderings on two

branches, one in Bulawayo and the

other one in Karigamombe.

This is the renderings of the

Karigamombe Branch.

LOCATION: MALL OF AFRICA

The Brief: Design the Store as well as

the Salon area, but separate them in a

way that they will still be connected.

Hair City’s main colour is red with a bit

of grey and white.

Requirements: The Salon has to have

movable units if clients want to get

their nails and hair done at the same

time. The Salon also has a wide variety

of Wigs and Merchandise and I had to

create various display units as well as a

fitting station for the clients. The client

wanted to bring an urban feel into the

store by using brick as well as

skyscraper wallpaper. We added

bulkheads to add more levels to the

store.

I came up with this concept. I

MOODBOARD

The Brief: We need a complete new design for the Menzies

lounge at the OR Tambo International Airport.

This is the Lounge area. The Bar Area is visible from the

rendering that is placed on the right hand side of the page.

The Gold circular forms act as dividers between areas as

well as a decorative item.

The Cocoon lights is only placed in the Lounge/ Dining area

while the

Reception has got down lighters and the rest suspended

globes placed at different heights.
