Madeira Sports Centre is located in Meia Légua, Ribeira Brava It was opened on seventh of September2007. Today it is the most modern and well­equipped sports centre on whole Madeira Island. Thanks to theimplementation of the newest constructing techniques as well as installation of the top quality equipment, itbrings a great comfort for the sportsmen training here. More to that, the location in the valley between two

mountains generates awesome background.

The sports centre area expands to more than 50 000

square metres that allows to host a lot of athletes at

same time.

It consist of:– 1 main football field with natural grass 107,5m x 70,5m– 8 lanes athletics track 400m, supported with all track and field sports modalities and all necessaryequipment for practicing running skills (sprints, middle and long­distance, race walking, hurdling), honingjumping (long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault), and improving throwing (shot put, javelin, discus,hammer)– 1 synthetics football pitch 90m x 60m– 1 seven­a­side football field– 1 futsal court– 2 tennis courts– 2 paddle courts– 1 squash court– Multi­sports field for volleyball, basketball and handball– 1 high performance modern gym– 2 changing rooms allocated to the teams equipped with ice machines and Jacuzzi– 4 smaller changing room equipped with ice machines– Separate changing rooms for referees and officials– Physio rooms– Medical post– Linen room– Laundry room– Press room and large meeting room– Anti­doping control room

Furthermore, from the one side there is a tribune with 2 300 seats, and the opposite grabs attention with abeautiful waterfall. Madeira sports centre is remarkable for its recreational places, cycle track, two children

amusement parks, and boardwalk with small restaurant snack bar.
