Feedback drives the development of new products

At Nichiban, our medical sales staff and Customer Relations Center serve to collect as much feedback and information as possible directly from the source. This helps us identify unmet needs and develop new products to satisfy them. For instance, feedback from doctors and nurses led to the development of the Cathereep™ FS Tab, a flexible, moisture permeable film dressing designed specifically to provide protective cover for indwelling needles during dialysis.

A new and improved bag sealer

Our customers indicated there was a need for a device to seal bags. We listened to their requirements and developed our latest bag sealer, the BS-2200. Requiring only the lightest of touches to seal bags tightly, the BS-2200 also cuts off the excess portions of bags to keep bags looking clean and crisp. The BS-2200 is ideal for food bags because it does not compromise appearance.

For Office

Keeping your office moving smoothlyOur product lineup may be small, but it features novel ideas that improve office work efficiency and provide comfort. We help you keep abreast of the information revolution with a diverse range of products that precisely accommodate the needs of society based on the concept of connecting needs and solutions.

Did you know that Cellotape™ is made mostly from natural ingredients?

The cellophane used in Cellotape™ looks like vinyl, but it is, in fact, a natural material made from pulp. What’s more, the adhesive is made from natural rubber and resins, and the core is made from recycled paper. These environmentally-friendly materials ensure that every part of Cellotape™ biodegrades like a plant after disposal – nothing needs to be incinerated, so no toxic gases are released.

For Home

Spreading the word about the fun of stationeryWe at Nichiban continue to develop a wide variety of products to meet today’s diversifying range of individual needs and pursue new possibilities for tape products. Today, we are striving to spread the word about the fun of using Cellotape™ and Point Memo™, and are focused on expanding our operations to include personal products.

Shaping the Nex t Generat ionExceptional technologies are similar to life in how they continue to evolve: they are born, they mature, and they generate new generations of technology. Since our founding, we at Nichiban have polished new technologies through this process, and now, as we look to the future, research continues to be conducted.

Central L aborator yThe Central Laboratory is where we apply our existing strengths in adhesion to forge new technologies with the potential to serve as our core technologies in future. Our proven track record in adhesives provides a solid base on which to research and build new elemental technologies and discover the seeds of future innovations.

Medical Product s Development CenterBacked by long experience on the front line of healthcare and a wealth of adhesion and material processing technologies, we develop an extensive range of ultra-mild surgical tapes, astrictive materials, and water-resistant patches to prevent germs get ting into wounds.

We are actively involved in research into moist healing, a new method of healing wounds quickly by preventing them from drying and maintaining them at an optimal level of moistness, and have developed a number of innovative wound care products for use by medical professionals.

Tape Product s Development CenterThrough ongoing research into applied technologies, we continue to anticipate and fulfill the needs of the changing consumer healthcare market with new adhesive materials that help improve all sorts of products.

One example of this is a new tape that can be applied with great precision to small areas – just like a stamp. Moreover, we are also developing a range of educational items for children, in order that they may learn to enjoy the process of creation just as much as they enjoy the process of using things, and we endeavor to incorporate the principles of universal design into our products so that they are equally safe and user-friendly for everyone.

The original cellophane tape was invented by US company around 1890. It was a sticking plaster composed simply of a base that served to prevent the mixing of drugs. In December 1947, the General Headquarters of the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers that occupied Japan in the af termath of W WII ran out of cellophane tape so they asked if we could make some. Our technicians came up with an original tape in an incredibly short turnaround time, leaving the GHQ administrators agape at our nimbleness. Subsequently, we began to mass-produce tape and, by 1953, it had become one of the “big three” of fice supplies.

At Nichiban, we focus firmly on creating new value, as illustrated by our ongoing research into transdermal absorption, a high-potential trans-dermal drug delivery system (TDS), as well as solutions to help reduce environmental impact, such as solvent-free drugs.
