This is the establishing shot . The shot is purposely a medium long shot to show the reader the extravagant location they're in. The camera work allows the reader to see the yacht, the drinks, the weather. It also works as a 2 shot showing us the 2 characters in this scene, Andy and Louise. Diegetic sound can be heard throughout, for example people walking passed.

This is the second cut, this shows Andy and Louise introducing themselves. This is an important clip as it shows the relationship between the two. “Hi, you’re Louise aren't you?” says Andy. This shows they have no previous history and sets the scene well. Again a medium long shot is used to show the location, which connotes their wealth. The lighting is generally quite natural.

This is a shot of Louise. The lighting is used to create a glow in her hair, this is to make her look more glamorous. Also, a medium close up is used, this is so the viewer can see her beauty close up and also get a feel for the riches they possess. For example the watch and dress. The dialogue continues as they begin chatting.

Andy’s shirt buttons not done to the top, a lot of upper class people do this, implies wealth and power. He begins to asks lots of questions about Louise’s relationship, clear to the viewer that he wants to become a part of her life.

Close up of the two kissing and saying their farewells. Is this perhaps a sign of things to come? The storyline is made aware to the viewer, as Louise has a on and off boyfriend but Andy wants them to split up so he can date her. This is echoed in the script as Andy says “I hope you two don't patch things up” Close up to imply maybe they will become close in the future.
