What is ‘Madani’?

Q.S. Sheba(34): 15“There was, for Saba, aforetime, a Sign in their home-land two Gardens to the right and to the
left. Eat of the Sustenance (provided) by your Lord, and be grateful to Him: a territory fair and happy,
and a Lord Oft-Forgiving!”
Madani Society is a society which is civilized, polite, highly cultured, and developed in term of science and
technology, law, and facing conflict and war.
Medina Charter1. Helping each other in order to reach “PEACE”
within the society.2. Using “AL-QURAN” as the constitution.3. Promote Prophet Muhammad as the
“LEADER”.
The non-Muslims included in the ummah had the following rights:
– The security of God is equal for all groups (art. 15)
– Non-Muslim members will have the same political and cultural rights as Muslims. They will have autonomy and freedom of religion (art. 25)
– Non-Muslims will take up arms against the enemy of the Ummah and share the cost of war. There is to be no treachery between the two (art. 37)
– Non-Muslims will not be obliged to take part in religious wars of the Muslims (art. 45)

Moslem’s Contribution on Realizing Madani Society
Q.S. Al-Imran : 110Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors
Three main pillar (principles):
– Iqomatul Masjid• Masjid as the basis or centre of all Islamic
activities– Ukhuwah Islamiah• Arrange and Islamic brotherhood based on
mahabbah (loving devotion) and marhamah (love and affection)
– Revere to the righteousness of Islamic law
