OVERHEAD PASS

Definition
Overhead Pass - commonly known as set.
- set is used to pass the ball to a teammate to set an
offensive play or to place the ball to the opponent’s
court.
MechanicsStarting Stance:
assume a crouched position one foot leading
knees bent weight evenly distributed on both feet
fingers and thumbs spread well apart and palms towards the ballhands form a pocket like position
eyes watching the ball.
Weight Movements:Upon contact with
the ball, the player evenly distributes his weight on the
balls of his feet .
Passing Action:
Strike the ball upward in the direction of the aim. By extension of arms,
knees, and ankles , ball is propelled upward.
Control the ball upward with forefingers.
Completion of Movements:
Arms and body should follow through in direction of the ball.
Straighten knees upon contact with the ball.
