Why hybrid cars?

As there is a constant rise in fuel prices it is a

must for us to look at the alternatives such as

hybrids.

Hybrids has optimum mileage in it’s class.

Dependency on fossil fuels is decreased.

They produce much less emissions and use

about 50%

less fuel than the average vehicle in the

same class.

Contd..It uses regenerative braking mechanism.

Plug in hybrid vehicle uses electrical energy

from the batteries. Thus, it eliminates the use

of fossil fuel, reduces emissions and increases

the efficiency.

Increment of fuel economy

1. While vehicle is running on IC engine, alternator rotate and generate current required for charging battery

2. When vehicle runs for 40 kms or more battery will get fully charged after used by DC motor to drive vehicle

Scope - 1. Vehicle will run on fuel as well as on electric battery

2. High capacity DC motor (3-3.5 HP)

3. Booster circuit (12V – 48V DC supply) to run high capacity motor

4. Common accelerator arrangement for electric and engine drive

6. Proper gear arrangement in DC motor(we can get proper torque at proper time)

well as three wheelers.5. Vehicle can be uses on any type of road6. When road is uphill we can switch to petrol/diesel,

and in traffic or on downhill road we can switch on battery
