Print advertising is a tried and tested advertising method. It is feasible for most businesses, relatively simple to utilise and delivers an excellent return on Investment (roI) if done right. However, few companies have the correct approach to print media and this often results in unsatisfactory outcomes. In this article I have outlined some of the most common mistakes in print media marketing campaigns.

1. Quality of AdvertisementsYour advertisement is the only representation your potential client will see at that moment they notice your ad. No matter how high quality of service your company provides, how friendly

your staff may be or how well-priced your products are, all that matters is the look of your ad for attracting new clients. The viewer of the ad will judge your company instantly based on the quality of your advertisement, so it makes sense to invest into professional graphic design.

2. Delivering the Right MessageIf the message in your advertisement is wrong or there is no call to action, you may not be getting all the leads you could from your investment. ensure there is a direct phone number or company website clearly visible and highlighted in your ad. Your product or service must be clearly displayed and reasons why your company should be chosen must be

outlined.

3. Try-once campaigns and over-estimation relying on a small ad placed once-off to keep your phone ringing every hour is a sure way to set yourself up for disappointment. In order to find an effective balance between your investment and return, you will need to run your advertisement for a sufficiently long duration. Plan your print media campaigns to run for a year to correctly evaluate the effectiveness of particular print media.
