On May 18th 2013 athletes and non-

athletes of all shapes and sizes

gathered at the Baton Rouge state

fair grounds in sunny Baton Rouge

Louisiana for this awesome event.

Play Dirty Adventure Trail Run is a

5K obstacle course where runners

all around take off in an attempt to

complete. Some are in it for the

race and others are in it to have a

Great time. The runners are divided

into twenty minute waves with the

first wave beginning at 9 am.

Runners are challenged by going

through mud pits, climbing cargo

nets, jumping over barrels,

climbing walls, crawling through

tubes of mud and water, and going

under nets through mud. This trail run lives up to its name

of playing dirty. There was no

runner that made it out clean.

Among these runners was our very

own model Joe’l Ash. Defeating her

challenges with cerebral palsy and

over coming cancer Joe’l and some

of her friends decided to sign up for

this event. They can all say they

had a blast. Joe’l completed the

course in an hour. She didn’t have

the fastest time there but she was

quite proud of her accomplishment.

She finished and that was good

enough for her.

She had the privillage of meeting

the promotor of the race. He

wanted to meet her. He asked how

she liked the course and if she

could physically handle it and with

a big smile she said yes. She was

not the least bit tired as everyone

had expected. After taking pictures

and hosing off and getting clean

clothes and showing off her Play

Dirty Medal Joe’l joined her friends

for a celebatory dinner at Twin

Peaks resturant. Joe’l plans on

running in the up coming race in

New Orleans Louisiana in

Septemeber. She invites everyone

to come join her and have a good

time.
