Macarthur News Goes Digital
In order to continue providing a free monthly
paper we have decided to go digital. Currently we
distribute 300 copies of the Macarthur News to the
town and surrounding properties. The paper is
printed free but in order for this service to continue
we need to reduce the number of copies we print.
From November the paper will only be delivered
to households in Macarthur. People living out of
town can opt to have a digital copy emailed to them
each month. One of the advantages of a digital pa-
per is that it is provided in colour. Households
without the internet can request that a copy be sent
to them by post.
Registering for a digital copy is easy! Send an
email to the Editor at [email protected] with
the phrase “Mac News digital” in the subject box
and we will do the rest. Your email address will
not be given to any other party without your
permission.
People requiring a copy by mail need to complete
the tear off section below and send to The Editor,
Macarthur News, 37 High Street, Macarthur 3286.
Remember, this applies only to people living out of
town at this time.
Once we have this process working properly we
will be looking at providing a digital copy for peo-
ple living in Macarthur so we would like to hear
from you too. If you would prefer a digital copy
send an email as above with the words “Mac News
town digital.” For the time being all households in
Macarthur will continue to receive a printed copy of
the paper, but once the logistics are sorted out we
will switch you to digital as well.
Eventually we expect to only be printing enough
copies to cover households without the internet but
it will only work if you send us your details. Don’t
leave it till the last minute, contact us as soon as
possible so we can make sure no-one misses out on
their copy!
Merilyn Cook Editor
I don’t have the internet and would like to continue receiving a printed copy of the Macarthur
News.

Lions members along with Macarthur Primary
School students, staff and parents held “Coins for
Kids” on the last day of term 2 this involves lining
up donated 5c and 10c coins (other denominations
are also welcome) to see how far the lines go. Half
the money raised goes to a charity of the student’s
choice and the rest of the money goes to Lions
Childhood Cancer research. Approximately $600
was raised. Thanks to the children, staff and fami-
lies from the primary school for their support and
look forward to doing the same next year. We
finish off with a sausage sizzle for all involved.
The 4th Macarthur Market is to be held in and
around the Macarthur Hall on Sunday 25th Septem-
ber. Bookings can be made by contacting Christine
on 55761217 or 0427101559 or email:
Thanks to the parents from the primary school who
catered for our changeover dinner this month, they
do a great job and was appreciated by all who
attended.
Our Lions community questionnaire was posted out
on Monday, we would appreciate if people could
fill it in and place it in the box at the post office.
Christmas cakes will be available at the usual out-
lets around town in September, or just ask any Lion
member and they will help you get one.

Macarthur’s Music in the Vines- a music festival to be held at boutique vineyard Suffoir has an-nounced next year’s line-up and starting early bird ticketing in August.
“Our headline act is Dean Ray who has performed over 150 shows in 2015 alone. X-factor runner up star, Dean Ray has been called mysterious, captivat-ing and a perfect match for the festival. He knows how to captivate the audience and his voice is incred-ible!” says President of committee Pieter Badenhorst.
Other artists include the Settlement, Nick Wild-goose, Jade Alice, Chris Rhook, Bec Milly band and more. 2017 will be bigger and better with more acts, more stalls, competitions, family entertainment and much more! Tere will also be a young emerging talent section, where local talent will be showcased leading up to the start of the festival.
“We tried to incorporate as many suggestions as possible. This is the second year that we will be running the event and there is still room to shape the event. We have also extended the hours to include more acts. The music will now go until 10 pm in the evening.”
The not-for profit organisation aims to put Macarthur on every tourist’s map and on the festival circuit, while uniting local community groups and encouraging local and national music collaborations.
During the first year, contributions were made to the Macarthur Primary School, the Macarthur Men's shed, the Australian Breastfeeding Association Hamilton, the Macarthur Hall, Hawkesdale &
district Family Services Centre and CFA Broadwater.
We would like to thank everyone for their support and look forward to another great year. Please visit Facebook at www.facebook.com/musicinthevines or visit www.musicinthevines.com.au. Early bird tick-ets can also be purchased at the Macarthur pub and online via the website from August.
Contact Michelle Badenhorst on 0430 382 432 for further details.
Kind regards
Michelle Badenhorst
