He left the parish with them for Nether Heyford in 1823 and followed his father’s occupation as a farmer. William married Elizabeth ROBINSON at Nether Heyford on 25 Nov 1828. Again, they returned to Preston Capes and after his wife’s death in 1728, Edward married his second wife, Hannah SMITH at the parish church on 28 Sep 1730. After Hannah died in 1732, Edward married his third wife, Dorothy UNDERWOOD, the licence being issued for Brackley on 26 Dec 1734. MUMFORD, George Henry 1893-1971 The son of George Henry and Elizabeth MUMFORD (née BATHE), George was born at Banbury, Oxon on 5 Apr 1893 and worked as a butcher. He moved to the parish in 1919 and married Sophia Elizabeth WESTON in 1920. They left the parish for Culworth in 1924 where he set up a butcher’s shop. According to the late James COLES, he delivered initially with a horse and trap and later with a van which had "Mumford's sausages" painted on the side. They were "always top quality". George died in 1971 at the age of 73. Children:

He became a grazier and moved to Everdon where he farmed 7 acres. He married Mary Ann FAULKNER by banns at Preston Capes on 15 Jan 1849 and on 9 Mar 1856, George and his family boarded the ‘Emma Colvin’ at London along with over 40 other residents of Preston Capes arriving at Nelson, New Zealand on 23 Jun 1856.
