After the appearance of the M242mutation more than 99% of haplogroup Qmen migrated eastward into Siberia or theNew World. A few, however, turned westto colonize parts of Scandinavia. One suchwestward-traveling Q-man was Prof. AlanAlmquist’s deep paternal ancestor, whose descendants settled in Sweden and eventually emigrated to America.
