Design Principles
• Used the specifications stipulated in the document “Functional Specification of the Mseat reservation system of the Sri Lanka Railways” as the base document.
• Clarifications and additional information were gathered during number of meetings and interactions had with the officials from Sri Lanka Railways.

Login Page•This page appears once the connection is ready for Railway Station Masters for login to the system
•Station Master should provide his User name and Password to Enter the system.
Home Page•The Home page of M-Ticketing system will appear once the correct credentials are given.
•To Perform a Reservation user should select relevant route in Ticketing menu.Ex: FOT/KDT option for Colombo Kandy Route.
Reservation page•In Reservation page , the given table shows available trains in the selected route and their seat availability for 28 days .•To perform a reservation user should click on the required Train vs Date cage
•Click OFV - Directs to OFV seat plan.•Click SCR –Directs to second class seat plan
Seat Plan•Click on Train Vs date cage .Then relevant seat plan will appear.
•The seat plan shows the reserved seats ,Blocked seats and available seats for reservation in a graphical view.
Seat selection •The required number of seats can be marked in check box.•The Price of the ticket is automatically calculated.•Using payment mode warrant/pass can be selected.•Reservation is complete once click on OK Button .
Confirmation page•Reservation details appears as it printed on the paper ticket.
•Click Print button to print the ticket.
Cash book Report•Location wise daily revenue can be obtain from this report .
•In each station the station masters name and contributed amount is shown.
Revenue Summary Report•The revenue of selected date range for individual station or all stations can be obtained.
Additional Facilities provided
• A dash-board of seat availability of each train for 28 days is provided to decision makers online real time via web browser.
• Warrant cancellation and Refund procedure are available with railway counters and do not involving paper works as earlier.
• Station Master can take Guard report comprising of seat occupation in one minute as a computer printout, which is very accurate.
• Detail reports of previous months can be accessed very fast . Earlier it was not possible.
• No need to spend time on preparing reports and reconciliations as all information can be accessed online real time.
