Product descriptionThe M Performance Drive Analyser is a product which isessentially an innovative recording and analysis tool for journeyswith vehicle information. Braking distance measurements orlong distance races, for example, can be recorded and analysed.Furthermore, the route can be recorded using a smartphonevideo camera, the driving data from the car and the route itselfusing GPS positioning data.This product is made up of two parts:– Hardware: OBD (on board diagnostic) stick which is plugged

into the car.– Software: App for smartphones.

The system, derived from motorsport, provides the driverwith all the key dynamic driving data and offers extensiveand professional recording and analysis options that can beevaluated and displayed on the smartphone.

The smartphone can be easily attached to the windscreenusing the Click & Drive holder which is available separately.The app starts to record the data as soon as the engine isstarted. The driver can view the results after every journey onhis/her smartphone. This enables drivers to experience the fullpotential of their car.The product is suitable for all cars built in or after 2008(including motorsport), but not for plug-in hybrid or electric cars.

– The Drive Analyser calculates a wide range of relevant keyfigures such as various engine data, speed and peak values,current gear, accelerator and brake use or lateral acceleration(see Technical information).

– The new multifunctional display enables up to six enginevalues to be viewed simultaneously.

– Immediately after recording, the results can be reproducedand analysed on a smartphone in the form of videos ofgraphically prepared displays. Recorded videos can beprepared with driving data displayed in them and thenexported and transferred or sent to other devices.

– Both the hardware and the app are branded with the sportyBMW M Performance design and are an ideal match tothe instrument panel and the interior of the cars in theM Performance series.

– The smartphone can be secured quickly and easily usingthe BMW Click & Drive holder, which is also available as anaccessory.

Functionality– Without the OBD stick, the customer can only view the app

and obtain a taster version of the functions. Full functionalityis only possible once the stick has been purchased andinstalled (the jack for inserting the stick is located in thedriver's footwell).

– The App runs on Android and iOS smartphones as well ason tablets, which are especially suitable for viewing analysesthanks to their larger screen.

– The BMW head-up screen can be retrofitted as an option.All the TestDrive is transferred and displayed in real-time byWi-Fi using the connection to the head-up screen.

– The video export function automatically generates an MP4video file including overlay data. The generated video file issaved in the gallery from where it can be sent, for example,using YouTube, WhatsApp and iTunes.

– A summary of all driving data, absolute, maximum andaverage values for the entire route or a selected segment ofthe can be opened in TrackDrive.

Technical informationThe audio and video data are recorded using the smartphonemicrophone and camera. The GPS module in the smartphonesupplies the GPS position data.
