The purpose of this course is to achieve the following objectives: enlarge the number of officials and enhance the quality of the existing ones; create a uniform pattern of interpretation and application of Open Water Swimming rules, thus raising the quality of officiating; use the course as an instrument to develop and promote Open Water Swimming worldwide. Please note the following information related to the designation & courses for open water swimming officials: Officials who have passed a FINA OWS School will receive a certification, which is valid for a 4-year period. FINA OWS Officials List N° 12 (valid from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2020): all new applicants must have attended and passed a FINA OWS School. FINA OWS Officials List N° 13 and all subsequent FINA OWS Officials Lists: all new applicants and renewals must have attended and passed a FINA OWS School.

Dear Friends, I have the pleasure to send you the following information related to the organisation of the FINA Open Water Swimming School for Officials scheduled to be held in Vacoas-Phoenix, Mauritius (MRI), from 29th to 30th October 2016. The purpose of this course is to achieve the following objectives:

Please note the following information related to the designation & courses for open water swimming officials:

FINA OWS Officials List N° 12 (valid from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2020): all new applicants must have attended and passed a FINA OWS School.
FINA OWS Officials List N° 13 and all subsequent FINA OWS Officials Lists: all new applicants and renewals must have attended and passed a FINA OWS School.
Please find below the details related to the organisation of this course: DATE: Arrival: 28th October 2016 Course: 29th – 30th October 2016 Departure: 30th October in the evening or
31st October in the morning PLACE: Vacoas-Phoenix, Mauritius
PARTICIPANTS: Each National Member Federation may nominate Open Water Swimming officials for this course.
REGISTRATION: All participants must be registered by the
14th October 2016 in the FINA General Management System (GMS) using your federation login details. The link to the FINA GMS is https://data.fina.org.
Please kindly note that the specific discipline of the school must be added to the attendee’s GMS profile in order to submit the registration.

Mauritius TRAVEL: Each National Federation is responsible for
the travel expenses of the nominated Open Water Swimming officials.

accommodation expenses of the nominated Open Water Swimming officials.

provided by the OC for those participants accommodated at the official hotel.

please provide the participants’ flight arrival and departure details to the Fédération Mauricienne de Natation.
