METRA AT CIVITAS

The 2010 edition of MADE expo, the

international trade show dedicated to

design and construction, closed the

last February the 6th at the trade fair

of Milano-Rho after a record turnout

of public and professionals. Civitas,

the virtual city in the building

enclosure designed for Uncsaal by

Enrico Dusi, was one of the main

events of the exhibition. METRA was

one of the major players, and its

systems were implemented in the

four branches of the exhibit. The four

branches were specifically designed

to represent the building enclosure

through innovative systems for

energy, sound insulation, security

and upwards construction.

METRA, in Via Vertigo, Corso

dell’Energia, Viale Sicuro and

Via del Silenzio (the four streets

named after the area of innovation

they represent), introduced those

systems that could better portray

the technological evolution proposed

by the four thematic elements of the

exhibition.

Grande affluenza di pubblico e di operatori del set-tore alla edizione 2010 di MADE expo, la manifesta-zione internazionale dedicata al mondo del progetto e delle costruzioni, che ha chiuso i battenti lo scorso 6 febbraio alla fiera di Milano-Rho. Civitas,la grande città virtuale sull’involucro edilizio, progettata per Un-csaal da Enrico Dusi, è stata fra gli eventi che hanno riscosso maggior interesse. METRA vi ha partecipato da protagonista con i propri sistemi, che sono stati inseriti nelle quattro vie tematiche appositamente al-lestite per rappresentare l’involucro edilizio tramite sistemi innovativi per l’energia, il silenzio, la sicurezza e la progettazione verso l’alto.

METRA, all’interno di Via Vertigo, Corso dell’Energia, Viale Sicuro e Via del Silenzio, ha proposto, fra i propri sistemi, quello più adatto a raccontare l’evoluzione tecnologica esplicitata nel concept delle diverse quin-te teatrali di tessuto urbano: - per Via Vertigo: NC 65 STH e facciata Poliedra - Sky 60 con pala frangisole fotovoltaica, Verniciato

9600 MET; - per Corso dell’Energia: NC 75 STH Verniciato Sablè

300; - per Viale Sicuro: NC 150 STH Verniciato Raffaello

Grigio 0924; - per Via del Silenzio: il nuovo sistema Aelle 100 STH Verniciato Alluminio 9010 opaco e Legno Frassine sbiancato e NC 65 STH Ferro Verniciato Metallico M2000.

METRA ha riscosso una notevole visibilità non solo nei quattro spazi tematici, ma anche presso la propria postazione interna ai 3000 metri quadrati del Civitas. A conferma del valore indiscusso dei propri prodotti e della propria storia tecnologica. Appuntamento, quin-di, alla quarta edizione di MADE expo in programma dal 5 al 8 ottobre 2011.

As a testament to the quality of its

products and its technology, METRA

garnered considerable exposition

not only in the four sections of

the exhibit, but also in its booth,

installed inside the 32,291 square

feet of Civitas. METRA will be

presenting its products again during

the fourth edition of MADE expo,

from the 5th to the 8th of October

2011.

METRA’S SLIDING SYSTEMS

MULTIPLIED BY FOUR

Four new series now complete,

together with NC 50 I and NC 50

STH, the section of METRA sliding

systems. Like all METRA doors,

windows and shutters, the new

series bear the EC stamp, which

became mandatory on the 1st of

February 2010, according to the UNI

EN 14351-1 standard.

Launching these new systems,

METRA brings to a conclusion the

renovation process of its high-

end products, a product class that

have a large market share in the

construction industry.

The four systems were developed in

order to meet increasingly severe

energy efficiency standards.

The new products are:

NC 65 STH: an upgrade of the

existing series;

NC 65 STH – i: a high-insulation

version of the same series;

NC 75 STH: a substitute of the NC 72.1

E N G L I S H I sistemi a battente METRA si fanno in quattroQuattro le nuove serie che completano, insieme alle NC 50 I e NC 50 STH, l’importante famiglia dei sistemi a battente METRA che, come tutti i serramenti METRA, riportano il marchio CE, diventato obbligatorio dal 1 febbraio 2010 in base alla norma UNI EN 14351-1. Il lancio di questi sistemi sancisce la conclusione dell’importante processo di rinnovamento intrapreso da METRA per quanto riguarda i battenti di alta gam-ma, che rappresentano una fetta consistente di merca-to dei sistemi per l’edilizia.I quattro sistemi sono stati sviluppati per ottemperare alle direttive sul risparmio energetico che impongono valori limite sempre più severi.I nuovi prodotti sono:- NC 65 STH: rifacimento della serie esistente;- NC 65 STH – i: versione ad alto isolamento termico

della stessa serie;- NC 75 STH : in sostituzione della serie NC 72.1 STH;- NC 75 STH – i: versione ad alto isolamento termico

della stessa serie.

L’ aspetto che ha determinato lo sviluppo evolutivo del-le nuove serie è stato il miglioramento delle prestazioni termiche per poter conseguire la migliore rispondenza possibile alle normative sul risparmio energetico, sen-za compromettere la flessibilità e la competitività del prodotto. Dal diagramma (tabella 1) appare evidente il notevole miglioramento dei valori Uf rilevato sulle combinazioni di profilo telaio + anta. A dimostrazione dell’estrema flessibilità del prodotto, inserendo nei profilati gli in-nesti isolanti si ottengono le versioni “– i” con valori di isolamento termico ancora più performanti. Inoltre

è particolarmente vantaggioso per i serramentisti il fatto che le nuove serie possono essere lavorate con le stesse attrezzature di quelle precedenti.

Le schede tecniche (tabella 2) dimostrano le notevoli prestazioni di isolamento termico Uw che si possono raggiungere con un serramento NC 65 STH – i oppure NC 75 STH – i e la perfetta rispondenza alle direttive più severe della legge Finanziaria del 2010. Tuttavia l’obiet-tivo più importante è stato il raggiungimento di pre-stazioni elevate senza gravare sul costo della finestra. Le tabelle qui di seguito riportate consentono di com-prendere meglio i valori limite di trasmittanza termica imposti in Italia per i serramenti, in base alle zone cli-matiche.

Le nuove serie sono disponibili con la stessa comple-tezza di gamma delle serie precedenti e con tutte le linee estetiche più importanti che caratterizzano i pro-dotti METRA. Per tutte le linee estetiche, nella versione a due ante, è disponibile la sezione centrale snella (da 113mm). Di particolare interesse risulta la Linea Ferro, dalla linea essenziale e dalle sezioni filiformi, che ne facilitano l’in-serimento in contesti architettonici di particolare pregio architettonico.Fra le tante novità, la Linea a scomparsa completata da una variante dalle linee particolarmente snelle, per la quale è possibile utilizzare i profilati del telaio della linea base. Better thermal insulation was the

main focus in the design of the new

series. The resulting products are in

complete accordance with the new

energy efficiency standards, without

compromising their flexibility and

their competitive edge.

Looking at the diagram (chart 1)

we can immediately see a steep

improvement in the Uf-value

detected on the various frame/panel

combinations. It is also possible to

install additional insulation on each

structure, thus creating the high-

performing “- i” version. Working

with the new series requires exactly

the same tool as the old series,

which makes these products even

more convenient for window and door

manufacturers.

The technical sheets (chart 2) show

the remarkable thermal insulating

Uw-values that can be achieved with

a NC 65 STH – i structure or with a

NC 75 STH – i structure, all in total

compliance with the budget law of

2010. Most importantly, in this case

high performance comes without any

increase in the price of the product.

The following charts help us

better understand the new thermal

insulation standards Italy now

employs for doors, windows and

shutters, according to the different

climatic areas.

The new series introduce a

completely new range of products,

giving customers as much choice

as the old series and keeping the

design standards that are the

trademark of METRA’s products. in

all lines, for the two-panel version,

a central slim section (5.2”) in also

available for installation.

The Ferro line is especially

interesting. Its essential design

La Marcatura CE deve essere applica a fi-nestre e porte esterne e interne secondo la norma UNI EN 14351-1 “Finestre e porte esterne pedonali, senza caratteristiche di resistenza a fuoco e/o di tenuta al fumo”.

All sections of the new METRA series

are certified compliant to energy

efficiency standards and thermal

insulation criteria.

Upon request, METRA can provide

its clients with the instruments

to calculate the level of thermal

insulation of windows (Uw-value)

and doors (Ud-value) with all

sections (Uf-value) officially

Also available with the new series,

new tools for windows, folding

panels and transom windows with

retractable hinges.

Folding panels and transom windows

can be equipped with an engine for

automatic operation that can be

easily integrated with the existing

home automation system.

la marcatura CE richiesta per legge sulle finestre e sulle porte.Per quanto riguarda l’isolamento termico e la rispon-denza alle direttive sul risparmio energetico, METRA ha eseguito la certificazione di tutte le sezioni delle nuove serie. Su richiesta, METRA mette a disposizione un apposi-to programma (METRA Uw) per effettuare il calcolo dell’isolamento termico delle finestre (Valore Uw) e delle porte (Valore Ud) con tutte le sezioni certificate ( Valori Uf) presso istituti notificati. (disegni 2 e 4)

In concomitanza con l’uscita delle nuove serie, sono disponibili nuove apparecchiature per finestre con apertura ad anta, anta ribalta e vasistas con cerniere a scomparsa. Le aperture ad anta ribalta e a vasistas potranno es-sere dotate di motore per l’automazione dell’apertura che potrà essere integrato con l’eventuale impianto di domotica della casa.
