Lyrics-Narrative When it came to creating a narrative we wanted to make sure there was a clear link of the relationship. Therefore we wanted our music video to have this clear link. When it came to researching Andrew Goodwins theory applied to music video, I found that the narrative allows the music to come to life, like a story. Narrative can either be fragmented or linear. In the end, we all as a group came with the narrative of someone being diagnosed with Illness. This would be easy for the audience to identify the clear relationship between the visuals and lyrics. We chose to portray the idea of someone being diagnosed with Illness therefore we would show the person in their younger years and how they are today. Our narrative would mainly focus on their journey through the younger years (Flashbacks) and their journeys to the hospital and GP. The first draft for our music video, we received audience feedback that we should portray the narrative in a much clearer way as they didnt really understand how the flashbacks were relating to the whole narrative. Our old narrative before it was changed was a person being diagnosed with Illness, the ending of it was her getting ready to see her friend where all the flashbacks would pop up in our music video. Our new narrative is still the same in terms of Illness but we choose to include flashbacks of the two school girls and how they are now. We see that the two girls have a friendship that is much stronger today. The park symbolises their friendship as they keep going there in times when things are good and in times where things are bad.
