She is Gone

You can shed tears that she is goneOr, you can smile because she has lived.

You can close you eyes and prayThat she’ll come back

Or, you can open your eyesAnd see all that she has left.

Your heart can be emptyBecause you can’t see her,

Or, you can be full of love you shared. You can turn back on tomorrow and live yesterday,

Or, you can be happy for tomorrow, because of yesterday.

You can remember herAnd only that she has gone

Or, you can cherish her memoryAnd let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind,Be empty and turn your back

Or, you can do what she’d want:Smile, open your eyes, love, and go on!

All Is Well

Death is nothing at all.I have only slipped into the next room.

I am I and you are you.Whatever we were to each other,

That, we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name.Speak to me in the easy way

which you always used.Put no difference in your tone.

Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughedat the little jokes we enjoyed together.Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.

Let my name be ever the household wordthat it always was.

Let it be spoken without effort Without the ghost of a shadow in it.

Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same that it ever was.

There is absolute unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind

because I am out of sight?

All is well.
