Pattern Cast on 3 stitches with color A and knit one row. Change to color B and knit 2 rows. Proceed to knit stripes and increase at the end of the first row:

Row 1: Knit with color A until 1 stitch is left on the needle, knit into front and back of last stitch = 1 st increased = 4 stitches on the needle. Row 2: Knit with color A. Row 3: Knit with color B. Row 3: Knit with color B. Row 4: Knit with color A. Row 5: Knit with color A. Row 6: Knit with color B. Row 7: Knit with color B. Repeat these 8 rows.

Keep increasing every 8 rows until you have 75 sts ( = just under 50 g of each color, so you have enough yarn for the second half). Knit 2 extra rows marking the center of the scarf. Proceed to knit stripes and begin decreasing in the same side as the increases:

Knit until 2 stitches are left on the needle, knit 2 together = 1 stitch decreased. Knit 7 rows of stripes. Repeat these 8 rows.

Knit until 3 stitches are left on needle. Knit 2 rows. Bind off. I-cord edging is knit with the rest of the yarn. Sloped edges From the right side pick up stitches along the two sloped edges using a circular needle or tunisian crochet hook. Break yarn. Move stitches to the opposite end of the needle, and knit i-cord edging: Cast on 3 stitches using the knitted cast-on. *knit 2, knit 2 together through back loop, slip 3 stitches from the right needle to the left needle*, repeat from * to * until all stitches have been knit. Put the 3 stitches on a holder. Straight edge With circular needle or tunisian crochet hook, pick up stitches from the right side along the straight edge. Break yarn. Move stitches to the opposite end of the needle, and knit i-cord edging as for the sloped edges, starting with 3 stitches from holder. Graft the i-cord edges together using kitchener stitch.
