CHRISTINE SPRINGER, our newest member, receives her Rotary pinfrom sponsor Francie Summers on her induction this week. The twomet on a military junket to San Diego and Francie thought Chriswould make a good Rotarian. Turns out her brother, Bob Gresham,is a former member of the Rotary Club of Las Vegas West.

Sister actM ore than 30 nationsand 28 states are

    now represented

among donors to our Its Vegas

    Baby fund-raising raffle.

    Better late than never, even

Texas now gets on the roll of

honor with two entrants in the

    past week.

    People from around the world

have entered the contest in an-

swer to our blizzard of emails.

    Perhaps the most exotic location

of entrants is Fiji in the South

    Pacific.

    President Steve Segal brought

his laptop to Tuesdays meeting to encourage lagging club mem-

bers to sign up for their commit-

    ted four entries.

But only Steve himself and Ted

    Baker took the opportunity. Cleo

    Mitchell bought her four tickets

    by check another payment

    option.

Once again, this thing can work

only if members do their duty

buy your four tickets on line and

    please, please, please email

everyone you know to buy tick-

    ets.

The future of the club depends

    upon this fund-raiser. We hope

well earn enough money to fund

    all our humanitarian activities for

the year and replace all our

    other get-cash projects.

Those you who havent yet done

your bit: We know who you are.

And we know where you live.

Reporting in on Its Vegas, Baby

BAGGING IT: Ken and Gina Cox demonstrate how to clean up Red Rock Canyon. More than adozen Las Vegas West members and friends helped Saturday at the annual Rotarians at WorkDay at our local beauty spot. More pictures on Page 2 and, of course, on the club website.

    Hey, the event at Red

    Rock Canyon was called

    Rotarians at Work Day.

    Didnt anyone do any

    actual work? These pic-

    tures just show Rotarians

    and others loafing on

    the job. Right, DG Tom

    and President Steve yak.

    Bottom right, Ken Fong

    rests on his laurels. Bot-

    tom, Bernie Hunt and

    friend Lynn Krapf take a

    break.

Pictures of people actually working are available on the Club Photos page of the club website. Photographs ofclub meeting activities also are published regularly. But you know that, right Ted Baker?
