We hoped to do so in December, but it was January 20 before tKe premises were vacated. Then we had much cleaning and painting to do in the house before we could move in. The outside still looks as though it had never been painted. On February 1 we moved into the house and began to convert the warehouse into a house of worship. The first item was to move out all the deteriorating machinery and equipment which' had been used in a chicken business years before. Much has been burned or hauled off, but there is still much to clean up. We were able to vacate one end of the building for the worship auditorium and lay a new plywood floor. Op. February 28 we held the first formal service at .the, new location. The spirit of praise filled the 2; hearts of those present for the privilege we have of entering new fields of service for Him. Our new neighbors are friendly. One of them helped us move the washer and dryer up a flight of steps to put them in place on our backlanai (porch). He assures that he and his wife will attend our services but she has been sick. We are proud of our young people who have worked hard every Saturday and school holiday cutting grass, moving out rubbish, sweeping the walls and floors, helping to put down the floors, and in packing and actually moving. They have done a tremendous job, and are justifiably proud of their accomplishments. Our two college students had semester break and gave several whole days to help us. Our spirits were lifted by the extra help they gained, too. Stan's father is the shop foreman in a large house-building firm, and he do nated two truck loads of heavy framing lumber, plywood, and some lovely shoji door frames which we will use for classroom partitions. He also brought all the nails we should need. Faye's uncles are donating their work to do the plumbing and wiring. Another par ent donated a water coder. Praise the Lord for these who are sharing their physical goods. How we yearn to get them to accept the spiritual blessing which we would impart to them. There has been a fine response to our appeal for funds for this project. Friends that we have not heard from for years have written to say, "Count on me for $10 per month. " One gracious lady sold a chair from her family home and later the diamonds from her wedding ring in order to share financially in this project. How we treasure such friend ship and sacrifice. We know that the Lord rewards them greatly. We have commitments of $305 per month towards our $600 monthly payments, and others have indicated that they are seeking support from their churches, classes, or mission groups. We pray that YOU are seeking other sources to help us reach our goal of 60 groups or individuals giving at least $10 per month. Of course, many have sent offerings, too, which are badly needed right now. We have had many extra costs for construction material, permits, etc. We have just learned of a new regulation which makes it mandatory that we have paved parking for at least 10 cars. This will cost at least $2000. Please pray that this extra money will be forthcoming SOON! We are happy to report that we will soon have another full time worker on our staff. .s^_ Jtdien Storms "of-Koi'^onio, Indiana, Henrietta's brother, is retiring fron^hTS"'*W^k~attd-->r~- will join us early in April.
