Join LUM online — LUM After School Program in Full Swing The LUM Immigration Clinic has teamed up with the Lafayette Adult Resource Academy to offer FREE citizenship classes beginning on next Tuesday for persons interested in learning more about US history and government. Details are as follows: Five-week session—August 25 - September 24 Tuesday and Thursday evenings Time: 6:30 - 8:00 pm. Place: LARA, 1100 Elizabeth Street, Lafayette While the series of classes is geared toward preparing permanent residents for the naturalization exam, anyone is welcome to attend. If you wish to make a donation to the LUM Immigration Clinic, click HERE. The LUM Emergency Shelter needs volunteers 365 nights a year. Currently there are openings for Overnight Shelter Volunteers. Overnight Shelter Volunteers Duties: Assist the coordinator in checking-in guests & serving meals, stay on site all evening (8:15 p.m. to 7 a.m.), and take a shift on awakeduty. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and interact with a variety of people. LUM Shelter Volunteers Opportunities Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and attend one Shelter Training Session which are offered twice a month. The next two Training Sessions are scheduled for TONIGHT (August 20) & Monday, August 31 at 6:30 p.m. at the LUM Ray Ewry Youth Center (525 N. 4th Street, Lafayette). LUM After School Program in Full Swing
