There’s going to be a fair just for planes and ships next year.” David: “What else did you see?”Nick: “We saw a solar car, electric cars, buses and motorcycles, intelligent bikes, and cranes with electric motors.”

David: “What did you do, May? Did you go with them?”May: “No, my mother and I went shopping. We needed new clothes and they were cheaper there.”David: “How did you get around the city?”May: “We had to use public transport. We also hired bikes. We enjoyed seeing the city while we were doing a little bit of exercise.”

May: “And what did you do, David?” David: “I went to the country by car with my father.”May: “And what did you do there?” David: “We went fishing in a river.” May: “Did you have a good time?” David: “Oh, yes. We got a lot of fish.” May: “Why don’t we go somewhere together in the next holiday?”Nick and David: “Good idea! We could go to the zoo!”May: “Great! There are special bus services to get there.”

1Narrator: ”Summer time is almost here and Pat’s family is thinking about where to go on holiday.” Father: ”Oh look, Daisy. Where would you prefer to go, the Caribbean or Europe?”Mother: ”I’d like to go to the Caribbean but Europe would be OK too.”Father: ”Why don’t we go to Greece?” Mother: ”It’d be great, Ben. We could go to the beach and at the same time learn about the Greek culture.”Father: ”So, we’ll go to Greece! Great!”

Pat: ”Look! Here are some leaflets for different summer camps in England. There’s Oxford Summer Camp, Cambridge Summer Camp and Leicester Summer Camp. I’ve looked at all of them. Have you looked at them, John?”John: ”No, I haven’t seen them yet.”Pat: ”Why don’t you have a look?”John: ”OK! Look at this! We’re going to be able to do lots of sports.”Pat: “What’s your favourite sport, John?”John: ”My favourite sport is football. And yours?” Pat: ”My favourite sport is tennis. I love playing tennis. In this brochure there’s football and tennis!”John: ”Yes, but the Cambridge Summer Camp only has two or three sports. Why don’t we have a look at the Leicester one?”

Pat: “Oh, sure. Here’s the Leicester leaflet. Oh dear, there isn’t any football but there are lots of other sports: canoeing, baseball, basketball, tennis and badminton.”John: ”Those sports sound good too. I’d like to do them but I want to play football as well. Why don’t we have a look at the Oxford leaflet?”

Pat: “This is great. At Oxford we can do lots of different sports. There’s canoeing, baseball, football, basketball, hockey…”John: “… And table tennis, roller-skating, tennis, badminton and horse riding.”Pat: “Is it near our house?”John: “No, it isn’t. It’s quite far from our house but I think it’s the best one.”Pat: “Yes, I agree with you. It’s the one we like the best. Let’s tell Mum and Dad and see what they think. They could help us decide.”

Mother and father: “Hello, children. What are you doing?”John and Pat: ”We were trying to decide which is the best summer camp. There are summer camps in Cambridge, Leicester and Oxford.”Mother: ”Which summer camp do you like?” John: “We think the Oxford one is the best because there are a lot of activities we would like to do there.” Pat: ”The problem is that it isn’t near our house.” Father: ”Oh, yes, the Oxford Summer Camp looks fantastic. What a lot of sports! Is there a bus?” Pat: ”I don’t know. Perhaps we can phone and ask.” Mother: ”It’s a very good idea. I’ll phone right now.”

Man: “Hello. Oxford Summer Camp director speaking. Can I help you?”Mother: “Hello. Yes please, can you tell me if there’s a bus service to the summer camp?” Man: ”Yes, there is. Where do you live?” Mother: ”We live in Westminster Street.” Man: ”Yes, of course. The summer camp bus stops right near your house, between the park and the post office.”Mother: ”That’s wonderful! It’s just perfect for us.” Man: ”Can I help you with anything else?” Mother: ”No, thank you. Everything is clear. Bye!” Man: ”I hope to see you soon. Thanks and bye.” Mother: ”Well, there is a bus service. Do you like this summer camp?”Children: “Oh yes, can we go there?”Father: ”Of course you can. We’ll visit it next Friday.”
