Screencast Task Analysis and Script for Wordle

Task Analysis:

1. First go to the Internet.

2. Then type www.wordle.net in the address bar.

3. Then you will arrive at the Wordle homepage.

4. You will see the toolbar at the top.

5. Read the description of Wordle.

6. Next click on the images to see the examples of the Wordle word clouds/

7. Click on the tab a the top that says Create.

8. Put the cursor in the text box and begin typing your text or copy and paste text from another source by pressing control C and control v.

9. Then click on Go.

10. A colorful word cloud will appear on the screen.

11. You can print, save, and share if you would like by clicking any of the commands on the screen.

12. You can also paste a URL of a blog to create a Wordle from that. If you would like to, paste a URL in the address box on the screen and click submit.

13. Now look at your word cloud on the screen.

14. Again you can print, save, and share by clicking on any of the commands on the screen.

15. Click the X on the upper right hand side to exit out.

1Move cursor to definition and purpose of Wordle.Read description: Wordle is a toy for generating word clouds from the text you provide.

2Move cursor over four different Wordle word clouds in order to show different styles. You can make your clouds unique by using different fonts, layouts and color schemes.

3Click on US Constitution word cloud.Wordle is an excellent tool for teachers and studentsthey can be used to summarize, assess, and create.

4Click on the Create button.Now, lets get started. First, click on Create.

5Move cursor in the text box.As you see here, you can either type in text here or paste from another document.

6Type words in text box.I am typing in key words for a unit my students are about to study on Shakespeare.

7Click Go by moving cursor.Now click Go.

8Move cursor over the word cloud.Now you have a word cloud!

9Move cursor over URL box.You can also add a link here to create a Wordle.

10Type in URL of futurelibrarian and click Submit.Just enter your URL and click Submit.

11Pan over the screen.Wordle is a great Web 2.0 tool. I hope you enjoyed this video.
