Generation of Passivity
• We are just involve with what we get in life.
• The world is just an aid of what I want.
Ego –Centrism
• The World is at the service of the I–I am the master of my world.
• All this characters of our generation today hinders us to focus and to see things that is worth for us to see.
• Thus when we fail to see we fail to act.
• When we fail to act we become slaves of this situation.
Situation- where I stand is where I see
You The World
I Look
Relates in Situation
Is equals to the New Generation
• The problem is we are stock with ego-centrism which leads to isolation.
• We feel alone
• We see alone
• We only see what is around our self, thus we forget that we still have society.
Isolation It is experience in a journey that leads
to isolation and despair…
We feel that we don’t have co- journeyer.
The feeling of isolation kills because we are oriented to be with the other.
This situation gives us two things either to be strong and move forward all or to fall into sin.
But majority of us are inclined to sin.
Tendency to Escape
We Use different forms of activity just to escape or to cope up with isolation.
What do I see?
• Family
• Barkada
• School
• Community
Problems
Filled with Human Drama
Clothed with Darkness
Concerns of the ‘I’ only
This is our situation now…
It seems bad… but in every situation that we meet, there is always someone, something or some event in life that
This is where we all stand…
• You might feel depressed
• Sad or angry• Or maybe
asking yourself what should I do?
Break
1. Working Merienda
2. You will receive a passage from the bible. You should interpret it and put this in your own situation or context as a youth.
3. You are going to act out this version of this passage for 3-5 minutes.
Looking back to what others did..
• In the Bible Man is created in the
image and likeness of God
We are made beautifully but because of sin people turn back from God’s original plan.
Fallen from sin = man wanted to be like God
So they are thrown into darkness and cast away from the garden of Eden.
Because of their unfaithfulness to God
But God promised that He will save His people
Noah When sin thrive among people. God wants them to
be punished by the great flood but God send them Noah for them to be saved..
But why did sin triumphed?Because of the abuse of freedom
Tower of Babel
• Sin of Pride
• Language differences
• Separation
Abraham • Promise of God = “From
your offspring – I will choose my people”
• “That you will be my people and I will be your God.”
• From Abraham to Isaac then Jacob who have 12 sons (who becomes the twelve tribes of Israel)
Joseph the dreamer
Joseph is one of the son of Jacob who can interpret dream. = He is sold to Egyptian merchants and become a governor of Egypt.
He save the Israelites from famine and hunger
From hunger and famine Israelites became slaves of Egypt
In this situation came Moses…
• An Israelite• A leader who brought
the suffering people of God out of Egypt.
• A great leader– A non skilled leader at
first but helped by God
From Egypt from the desolate land of Philistines
• After Moses came the judges and one of them is Samson.
• Leaders and hero of their time
• Sent by God to lead the people…
When People merges with the culture of other people in the land • They turn to other
religion and God• They worship false God
who have;– No image – No name – Bad influence
The people of God lost their identity
• Then came the Prophets
• to remind the people of the love of God and his mercy
• Reminds the people of who they are
• Messenger of God
Then came series of prophets…
• Because the people of Israel continue their work of not doing the right thing…
• Living in other Land, they continue to forget who they are..
These Things are in the Bible
• We see pattern here….
SITUATION
Unfaithfulness
GOD HELPS
What is in all this experience?
• That at those moments that the people of God is in need, Gods always sends someone to help them.
• God always saves us.
God always intervene in the history of man
• God always made the first move to save us, to send us someone who will lead and guide us.
• Since, God has given us so much freedom that we cannot handle it anymore, as such he intervene in our history for us to be in order again.
God cannot allow us to remain in suffering…
• God is always with us.
• If God cannot allow this sufferings, will you allow your fellow youth who is also situated in your same situation to suffer?
