LS SmartConnect Description of Solution Components
LS SmartConnect - Server The server / cloud handles all connected units. Only units with LS Control developed hardware can be connected. Access to connected products is granted through obtained license rights. From the Manufacturers access to several connected units all the way down to each individual user with access to only his own unit (Typically via an pp).a
For any level of customer/user to get access to connected products/units he must be a member of LS SmartConnect. Regardless if product is with integrated internet access such as ES 2020 or the access is obtained via our GateWay and regardles if access is sobtained via pp or PC tools.a
SoftwareLS SmartConnect - Log
The Log software is a technicians tool for accessing a ventilation system, heatpump etc which is connected to the .internet with access to our server. However, the software is also to be used locally typically using the port of a PC.USBTo analye a ventilation system, heat pump etc using the Log z .software demands a log vesion corresponding to the product rneeding to be analyed. This implies you need several log zversions to analye different products. zYou may use Log to set ModBus values and in an advanced Log system you are able to monitor the actual operation.
LS SmartConnect - app App is an application for Smartphones and tablets for the end-user to operate his heat pump / ventilation system.
App is only to be developed for products connecting to the internet and with an integrated Nabto License (such as the 2020-platform) or with internet access through the LS SmartConnect GateWay (offering ModBus to LAN and using Nabto license).
App is developed for both Android and Apple.
LS SmartConnect - Center This monitoring software is a software including more levels and where the Ventilation system, heat pump manufacturer buys a SuperUser licence giving the opportunity to resell sub-licenses for service companies or retailers. The Center monitors all the manufactures customers connected units. ‚
Errors / Status simultaneously displayed for all connected areunits, but only for the level you are licensed for. Giving each level access to exactly the units needed to service and monitor his customers.
LS SmartConnect - ConfigConfiguration tool for LS Control product hardware platform called ES 2020 (Described in this document). The configuration tool gives the possibility of customie znumerous output and input options. This tool has nothing to do with the internet. The objective of this tool is solely for customers to quickly be able to configure hardware to readily be obtained in solution applications without the use of LS Control development department.

This hardware box provides the access from a ModBus protocol to a LAN connection to the internet.
To obtain the connection through the GateWay it is necessary to get a little piece of translation software developed to translate the existing ModBus addresses to LAN Connection addresses which can be understood by the LS SmartConnect Server giving access to Log, Center or pp.aTo use the LS SmartConnect GateWay it is mandatory to obtain license for our server.
Nabto connection and internet security.Nabto is a middleware integrated with our SmartConnect hardware products. Nabto provides a secure connection between the users phone/tablet and the SmartConnect ‚
product, using industry standard cryptography. Each product is given a unique device-id which is used by the client to reach it, regardless of dynamic IP addresses. The Nabto middleware provides seamless, direct remote access without firewall or router configuration. The direct Nabto connection ensures the best possible performance with minimal overhead and latency

ES 2020 Configuration Example 1: Typical Use of ModBus
ES 2020 includes 4 ModBus connections to ensure an effective ModBus communication both internal and external. The 4 ModBus connections are allocated to different functionalit with different needs for speed and different ylevels of vulnerability.2 ModBus Connections are external - One is master and is used for all sensors thoughout the building. Another one is rused for Building Management Systems / CTS and is Slave. As both these busses may have very long routes (up to 1km) the BaudRate is set to 9600/19200 as recommended by modbus.ORG.The ES 2020 is also equipped with 2 internal Modbus connections where one is used for the graphical display and the other one as internal application bus - in example at the right it is used as bus communication to 2 fans - but could be a lot of other equipment within eg. a Heat Pump or Air Handling Unit. The BaudRate here is at least 19200, but might be as high as 115200 when used for software updates.
The main advantage of having 4 ModBus connections is the reliability of the system - even if for some reason one or both of the extenal ModBus connections are compromised the runit will continue operating.
