Ring! Dinner bell, merrily ring, calling our guests. What should they bring?Ring! Telephone, Bob’s on the bus, bringing the twins. (Oh, lucky us!)Ring! Telephone, it’s Uncle Ned. He’s called to say he’s out of bed.Forks always go left of the plate. Ring! Cousin Jill’s bringing a date.Clink goes the ice, crash goes a plate. Sweep up the glass, we can’t be late!Somebody quickly go to the att ic. There’s extra china packed in a box.Grab some silverware if you are able. Hurry up! It’s time to set the table.Ding goes the clock. Buzz goes the bell. Dong goes the door. Ring goes the cell.Hurry! Hurry! Hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry up!Squawk! Goes the bird, chased by the cat. Woof! Woof! Woof! Whose dog is that?Ring! Dinner bell. Check with the cook. How is the food? Somebody look! Here comes the snow, watch how it blows. Who’s at the door? Nobody knows.Run to the neighbors, we’ve got to borrow four chairs, a table, one booster seat.Hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry!... Ring! Dinner bell, bringing us cheer. Open the door…Ding, dong, they’re here!

Hymn 158It came upon a midnight clear, that glorious song of old, from angels bending near the earthto touch their harps of gold:‘Peace on the earth, good will to men, from heaven’s all-gracious King!’The world in solemn stillness layto hear the angels sing. For, lo! the days are hastening on,by prophet bards foretold, when with the ever-circling years, comes round the age of gold, when peace shall over all the earthits ancient splendours fling, and the whole world give back the songwhich now the angels sing. Hymn 310

Sing, ye joyous children, sing,Glorious is the Christ, our king,Truth has come again to earth,Through the lowly Saviour’s birth.Men and angels, anthems raise;Hymns of joy and shouts of praise.Hear th’ angelic song again:Peace on earth, good will to men.Sing, ye joyous children, sing,Glorious is the Christ, our king.

When the stars together sang,Then the Truth triumphant rang:Be there light; And there was light.Gone are chaos, fear and night;Truth hath rolled the mists away;Dawns on earth harmonious day.Hear th’ angelic song again:Peace on earth, good will to men.Sing, ye joyous children, sing,Glorious is the Christ, our king.

Hymn 417Joy to the world, the Lord is come,Let earth receive her King;Let every heart prepare him room,And heaven and nature sing.

No more let sin and sorrow grow,Nor thorns infest the ground;Where’er he comes, his blessings flow,And hope and joy abound.

He rules the world with truth and grace,And makes the nations proveThe glories of his righteousnessAnd wonders of his love.

Hymn 24Blest Christmas morn, though murky cloudsPursue thy way,Thy light was born where storm enshroudsNor dawn nor day!

Dear Christ, forever here and near,No cradle song,No natal hour and mother’s tear,To thee belong.

Thou God-idea, Life-encrowned,The Bethlehem babe — Beloved, replete, by flesh embound — Was but thy shade!

Thou gentle beam of living Love,And deathless Life!Truth infinite, — so far aboveAll mortal strife,

Or cruel creed, or earth-born taint:Fill us todayWith all thou art — be thou our saint,Our stay, alway.

First NoelThe First Noel, the Angels did sayWas to certain poor shepherds in fields as they layIn fields where they lay keeping their sheepOn a cold winter’s night that was so deep.

Noel, Noel, Noel, NoelBorn is the King of Israel!

They looked up and saw a starShining in the East beyond them farAnd to the earth it gave great lightAnd so it continued both day and night.

Noel, Noel, Noel, NoelBorn is the King of Israel!
