J. Overall Safety: Students will watch spacing with one ano ther and respect personal boundaries. Use the equipment and facilities properly. K. Health-Related Fitness (HRF) Component & Activities that Support Learning of H RF: Cardiovascular endurance will be addressed during this lesson during the game component of the lesson. Teachers will address this to the students at the end of the lesson during the closure. L. (6 min) Instant Activity: Warm-Up 1) Description: The students will jog for 3 minutes around the gymnasium as soon as they walk in. They will then be asked to do 15 push-ups and 15 sit-ups in their squads. 2) Safety: Body parts will be kept to themselves. 3) Diagram of activity: See Attached 4) Transition to next lesson component: The teac hers will split up the class evenly and take their students and move to their designated area.

M. (1-2 min) Set Induction

First the teachers will ask who has played ultimate Frisbee before. Then the teachers will

introduce ultimate Frisbee by telling the students what else a Frisbee disc is used for (disc golf,ultimate Frisbee). Next, a basic overview of the aerodynamics of a Frisbee disc’s flight will be

explained to the students.

N. (6-7 min.) Task 1: Backhand throws and catch1)  Description: the students will line up across 2 given markers and stand approximately 20

feet across from their partner and practice their backhand throws. Each pair of studentsshould leave at least 10 feet between the pairs on either side. The students will also practice

different methods for catching the disc. These types of catches will include the pancakecatch and the claw-catch. Students will help demonstrate this task. To check for 

understanding the teachers will ask the students to repeat the 3 cues. During the activity,the teachers will rotate to all of the students to make sure that they are performing the

 proper task.2)  Safety: Body parts will be kept to themselves. Use equipment properly.

4)  Extension: the students will have the option to throw lead passes to their partner or they canincrease the distance of their throw. To increase the distance, one of the partners will takeone step backward after each successful throw. The student will be allowed a maximum of 

5 steps backward from his or her partner. The lead throws will take place in a separate practice area. One student will jog a maximum of 10 feet from his or her partner, while the

other throws the disc. The roles will then be switched.5)  Refinement: “Same shoulder to target”

O. (8-9 min) Task 2: Forehand throws and catch

1)  Description: the students will line up across 2 given markers and stand approximately 20

feet across from their partner and practice their backhand throws. The students will also practice different methods for caching the disc. Students will help demonstrate this task. To

check for understanding the teachers will ask the students to repeat the 3 cues.2)  Safety: Body parts will be kept to themselves. Use equipment properly.

3)  Diagram: see attached4)  Extension: the students will have the option increase the distance of their throw. This will

 be accomplished by having one of the students take one step backward after each successful

throw. The student will be allowed a maximum of 5 steps backward from his or her  partner.

P. (13-14 min) Task 3: Ultimate Frisbee Game

1)  Description: With rules of the game explained to the students. The class will be divided into

two teams. One team will use pennies then other will not. The game area will be markedusing eight cones, four for each end zone. The students will use their newly learned and

acquired throwing and catching skills in a game play setting. Students will help demonstratethis task. To check for understanding the teachers will ask the students to recite at least

three rules of the game.2)  Safety: Avoid running into other students on the field. Respect the space of students when

defending.3)  Diagram: see attached

4)  Extension: Complete passes of various distances over the course of the game.8)  Refinement: “Stop and throw”
