I am honored to recommend Ms. Ashley Lowe in her application for the Doctor of

Philosophy program at Nova Southeastern University.

Ms. Lowe was a student in my Engl. 321, Introductory Linguistics course during the

Summer 2011 session at Ashford University and performed admirably on several fronts. Her

careful adherence to challenging course assignments was approached with impressive substance

and organization. She responded promptly and substantially to discussion assignments and

exhibited genuine interaction with colleagues. Her final paper, Written Language and the Brain,

earned an A as well and was a pleasure to read. It clearly displayed Ms. Lowe’s research and

writing acumen and passion for the study of language.
