Preface

We would like to extend a warm welcome to all speakers and participants to our World Taxpayers and European Resource Bank Conference in Berlin, March 17th -19th, 2016.

Players and globally recognised experts with a broad spectrum from science, industry and politics are going to meet under the slogan “Low Taxes and Good Governance – A Necessity in an Insecure World?” to discuss the positive influence of tax systems on economic growth, the effects of bureaucracy and good governance as well as questions on the influence of political interests on tax systems.

More than 250 participants from all over the world registered for this conference.

The conference is organised by the Taxpayers Association of Europe (TAE), World Taxpayers Associations (WTA) and the German Taxpayers Association (BdSt).

Cooperation partners are the European Economic Senate, European Resource Bank, SME EUROPE of the EPP as well as SME Global. Together with the other organisations we have members in over 80 countries around the globe. More than half of these countries will be present at this conference.

With this World Conference we want to make an active contribution. Our slogan “Low Taxes and Good Governance - A Necessity in an Insecure World?” delivers a clear message: Every crisis offers a chance to tackle reforms and make the best of a situation. We just need to use the resultant chance. Through dialogue with global experts we want to share experience and offer a chance to the participating guests to have exchange on the highest level, in order to introduce practical solutions into the political discussion based on these dialogues.

We thank all speakers, the conference cooperation partners and sponsors of the World Conference Berlin 2016 who helped us to make this conference possible.

We wish the conference every success; good discussions and exchange of opinions and look forward to an interesting two day programme.

Yours faithfully,

Staffan Wennberg World Taxpayers Associations President

Dipl.-Kfm. Rolf von Hohenhau Taxpayers Association of Europe President

Reiner Holznagel, M.A. Bund der Steuerzahler Deutschland e.V. President

Dr Barbara Kolm European Resource Bank Chairman Austrian Economics Center (AEC)
