Low Pressure Boilers Every Year Low Pressure Boiler Explosions still occur in the U.S. Annually. The National Board of Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspectors releases a report of Boiler & Pressure Vessel Accidents every year. For the last several years the Number 1 cause reported has been Operator Error & Poor Maintenance!!! The ability to operate a boiler is significant. Being able to operate & maintain it safely is imperative. Many low pressure boilers are part of the heating systems in schools, hospitals, factories, shopping centers, laundries, apartment houses. Course Information The Low Pressure Boiler Course is a 16 hour course, taught 2 hours per night for 8 weeks. Upon Completion of the course each attendee will receive a certificate of completion & 1.5 Continuing Education Units (CEU’S) Course Outline Boiler Operation Principles Boiler Fittings Feed water Systems Fuel Systems Draft and Combustion Boiler Water treatment Boiler operation Procedures Boiler Operation Safety Hot Water & Steam Heating System Course Cost The cost of the program is $375.00 for non- members and a $50.00 discount for members of N.A.P.E. Cost will include text book hand outs and study material. Course Date & Times The Course will Start on Thursday April 27 th 2006 and end on June 15 th 2006 from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM. Course Location The location for the training will be Yeshiva University 215 Lexington Avenue. The University is centrally located on Lexington Avenue & East 33rd Street in Manhattan. The University is easily accessible by Public Transportation. The Number # 6 Train stops at East 33 rd Street & Park Avenue. The M102 & M103 Bus also stops at East 34 th Street. Meter Parking is also available on the street after 6 PM. There are also pay parking lots across the street from the University. Prior to the start of the class you will be notified as which floor and room to go to. N.A.P.E. The National Association of Power Engineers, Inc. (NAPE) is the oldest engineering society in the United States established in 1879. NAPE was formed as an educational organization with the purpose of providing advancement through educational opportunities for Stationary Engineers & Operators working in Commercial & Residential Buildings, Hospitals, Hotels, Malls, Schools and Governmental Agencies. NAPE courses are open to anyone within the field of Stationary, Building, Power & Refrigeration Engineering.
