Made of high quality resins, these innovative and technologi-cally advanced liners are available in both high and low den-sity polyethylene, offering maximum performance plus value for even the dirtiest of jobs. With a large variety of sizes, Performance Plus has a can liner to fit your needs!
RESIN: The basic raw material used in can liner manufacturing. The two basic types mostcommonly used are High Density and Linear Low Density, each with their own unique advantages:
• Superior stretch properties minimizes punctures and tearing.• An excellent choice for waste with sharp or jagged edges.• Great multi-purpose liner material.
Linear Low Density Advantages:• Up to 3x stronger and half the weight of LLD.• An economical choice for heavy, soft, wet refuse.• Superior vapor and moisture protection allows for USDA and FDA approval for food use.• Require smaller, lighter cases, which lower freight, storage and warehousing costs.• More temperature resistant than LLD (-40˚ to +212˚ F).
High Density Advantages:
SPEAK THE LANGUAGE OF CAN LINERS:
GAUGE: The measure of a can liner’s thickness. Usually expressed in mils or microns.
Mil: A thousandth of an inch. Low-density can liners range from .30 to 2.0 mils. Convert a mil to a micron by multiplying by 25.4.
Micron: One millionth of a meter. High-density can liners can range from 6 to 24 microns. Convert a micron to a mil by dividing by 25.4.
SIZING: Each container should have a gallon capacity, or size printed on it. Refer to the Vintage container chart on the back of this brochure for pictures of actual trash container types. Match the picture to your receptacle and it will tell you which size liner you need.
Width: To calculate the proper width for your container, divide the circumference of the container by 2.
Round Circumference=Diameter multiplied by 3.14.
Square Circumference=Sum of all 4 sides.
Length: For round and square containers, add 4–5 inches (for overhang) to the height of the container.
SEAL: There are three typical methods for sealing the bottom of a liner.
FLAT SEAL• A straight seal along the liner’s bottom edge.• Somewhat leak proof.• Conforms poorly to container shape.
GUSSET SEAL• A flat-style seal with the edges tucked in to form gussets.• Tends to leak with wet contents.
STAR SEAL• Created by folding the liner bottom over several times, then sealing it.• Virtually eliminates leaks.• Conforms well to container shapes.
