Loving Others!1 John 4:7-10
Where dothings start?When it comes
to love, John has a few things to
say!
John teaches more about
love than any other disciple!
God is Love!
1 John 4:7-8“Beloved, let us love one another, for love
is of God; and everyone who loves is
born of God and knows God. He who
does not love does not know God, for God is
love.”
John teachesthat God’s Essence is
Love!
And that the focus of ourLove is to be
Outward!
Matthew 22:37-4037 “Jesus said to him,
‘You shall love the Lord your God with all
your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is
the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love
your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and
the Prophets.”
But how do we Get there?
Love ClarifiedThe Standard!
Romans 5:8“But God
demonstrates His own love toward us,
in that while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.”
G.K. Chesterton said “All [people]
matter. You matter. I matter. It’s the hardest
thing in theology to believe.”
The Signature of our
Transformation....
Love Identified
It’s NotYours to Give!
Colossians 1:27-2827 “To them God
willed to make known what are the riches of the glory
of this mystery among the Gentiles:
…which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 Him we preach, warning every man and
teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present
every man perfect in Christ Jesus.”
