This shoot was a very urban living, modern couple, industrial styled shoot. It had a masculine feeling with feminine elements in-corporated. The colors (blues, greens, ambers and golds) compli-mented the venue which is an event space by day and a wine tast-ing bar by night. The design incorporated the concrete, wood, glass and metal elements found all throughout the venue.

Page 11: Love Is In The Air Feb 2015
Page 12: Love Is In The Air Feb 2015

There was a cigar rolling bar available for guests to enjoy a hand rolled cigar, as well as a Spanish Guitarist there to play live music. The cake was an un-conventional cake called a croquembouche and the favors were a larger version of the pastries. There was a throw back to the couples school age memories of the 'cootie catcher' that acted not only as a cock-tail hour party game including trivia about the couple, but also as an escort card for each guest!

The invites were a natural pa-per and ink printing design that incorporated all the colors of the design on a craft style pa-per.

A Blessing on your Love! By Lissin Lev Chaya, Life-Cycle Celebrant & Officiant

What do you want your wedding ceremony to feel like? Have you given it any thought? I’ve of-ten heard married couples say that it was such a blur ~ they don’t even remember it. When I ask my couples, many tell me they haven’t really thought about it…but when they do, they realize they want to remember their ceremony moments.

“blessed ~ loved, honored, supported, and cele-brated.” What do *you* want your ceremony to feel like ~ that space out of time when you commit to taking your relationship to another level, when you state your vows and promises to each other before your-selves and your loved ones?

Page 19: Love Is In The Air Feb 2015

The wedding process can be overwhelming. Let’s face it, life can be overwhelming. Over and over I hear my couple’s desire to feel calm, peaceful, and present with themselves, their Beloved, and their family and friends. They want to enjoy their Celebration of love, and feel au-thentically connected on their wedding day. They yearn to feel blessed ~ loved, honored, supported, and celebrated

Here are a few exercises to connect with your Beloved and begin the inquiry into *your* ideal ceremony. ~Create the time and space to be able to be together without distrac-tion. Set aside an hour or so. Have a pen and paper with you ~ markers and stickers are fun as well if you have a colorful side. ~Sit quietly together to connect before beginning. Look into each oth-er’s eyes. Take a few nice deep breaths. ~What might your ceremony look like? If there are things you know, like location, date or time of year, who will Officiate ~ talk about, write, and/or draw those things. ~And now your dreams ~ what will help your ceremony feel mean-ingful to you? Take time to share: Who is there? What does it look like? What music is playing? What is the feeling in the air? Are there rituals? Is there laughter? Is there reverence? Is there joy? What do your Beloved’s eyes look like? Take notes.

Page 20: Love Is In The Air Feb 2015

~What do you both agree on? What might you imagine differently? If there are many things that you have different ideas about, seek out a therapist or counselor to guide you through the process. ~Imagine yourselves surrounded by the love and support of your com-mitment, each other, and your loved ones, connected to your love. ~Before ending your session, take a few moments to sit quietly again, looking at each other and simply connecting in the present moment. Now you have some information to take with you when you speak to your Officiant. Some Clergy and Houses of Worship have their own rules that they have to abide by, and that may limit your options. If you have a trusted Clergy or Guide serving as your Officiant, talk about your visions at your next meeting. If you are choosing an independent Officiant, you can find someone able to take your visions and run with them, guiding you in creating a unique, meaningful, and authentic ceremony. Officiants come in so many styles, each offering their own gifts. Life-Cycle Celebrants® are certified by the Celebrant Foundation and Insti-tute to create unique, personal ceremonies for each couple, using the couple’s own Love Story as the heart. To find a Certified Life-Cycle Cel-ebrant® in your area, please visit the Celebrant Foundation & Institute at http://celebrantinstitute.org.

My wish for the two of you is a meaningful and authentic ceremony as you step into the next phase of your lives together. Blessings on your love! ***

The concept was to style a bridal outfit using a skirt res-cued from a 1950's vintage gown. I wanted to show brides a simple way to style the skirt using accessories to create a theme. The theme of this shoot is Victorian. The ruffled skirt creates all the drama so I paired it with a simple lace top. I added a vintage beaded gold collar, Victorian boots and a straw boater hat for the Victorian style.

Vendor Spotlight Rosaura, Unangst Pigment & Parchment

Rosaura tell us about your com-pany ? Pigment & Parchment is a wedding emporium of watercolor & calli-graphic items that are artisanally created for each couple by hand by artist & owner Rosaura Unangst. At P&P we believe our paperie tells your story in a way no other wedding details do since each order is tailored specifically to each event.

How did you get into your profession and how long have you been in business ? I grew up with a paintbrush in my hand. I've dabbled in different businesses selling my art (portraits, murals, gifts, cards) since 2002, but Pigment & Parchment was born in 2014! A newbie in the wedding industry but a veteran at freelance illustration.

What upcoming trends are you looking forward to ? I've been having a lot of fun experimenting with plexi glass lately! Soon I'll also be offering custom shaped items that aren't coming from a store bought die cut but from silhouettes I draw by hand!

Page 51: Love Is In The Air Feb 2015

Where does your inspiration come from ?

It comes from each couple's stories! I ask questions about them and come up with their designs based on their answers! I'm also constantly trying new methods. I'm at hardware stores and art stores mixing up using new mediums all the time- searching for a new way to approach making things.

Page 52: Love Is In The Air Feb 2015

What sets your business apart from others ? My aesthetic & the ideas from my brain are tied solely to Pigment & Parchment. My clients are hiring me for my years absolute dedication to my craft. They are investing in a piece of artwork they'll cherish for the rest of their lives made specifically for their love story.

Page 53: Love Is In The Air Feb 2015

What is your philosophy ? I create because it's just in me, it heals me. I believe we're on this Earth for a short blip of time and I want to spend my time doing what makes me hap-piest. Bringing smiles, laughs and tears of joy to people's faces with my artwork makes me happiest. It's real-ly that simple.

What is your dream project ?

There are so many dream projects and I'm working on them all the time. One reason I love my job is I get to play with different thematic projects all the time which keeps me from get-ting bored! I love that I don't have to stick to one style, one version of my aesthetic- my dream project is hap-pening all the time!

Kimberly Kilgannon Tell us about your company ? Chic, Customized and Affordable. We offer Personal assistance, decor & design services, event manage-ment, wedding day coordination, full & partial planning and much more.

How did you get into your profes-sion and how long have you been in business ? I've always known that I have had a passion for two things- helping people and styling & planning events. In 2011, I decided it was time to combine both. After some experience, mentoring and education I launched Briderunner, with a small team, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The business' concept and services were so well received I decided to grow my team and expand to the Bay Area.

Page 59: Love Is In The Air Feb 2015

Where does your inspiration come from ? We are inspired by romance, nature, current trends, beautiful color palettes, lighting and of course a little sparkle. We also offer a range of themes ideas and unique personal touches very similar to what you see in popular television shows, movies, and crafty sites such as Pinterest.

What sets your business apart from others ? Briderunner is a little different than your traditional Wedding Planner/Coordinator. While we do offer planning services, we also offer much more. The biggest dif-ference is we offer customize op-tions to fit your needs at a low cost to fit your budget. We saw that there was a need for a reliable pro-fessional and affordable wedding assistance that goes above and be-yond just traditional wedding planning. We have a team of reliable, experi-enced and knowledgable 'Briderunners' who are passionate

about weddings. We are there to handle all of the details that you've spent hours and hours thinking about. We think just like Brides do, and we know how important it is to you to set your wedding apart from the rest, that's why when you hire us we know exactly how to make your vision a reality.
