For these blossoming love affairs in college, former students of the University have made special zones in the premises and even given them fancy names. These love-spots constitute a shared legacy of experiences across generations of students, who have been a part of DU. Here’s a look at some love addas for those looking to spend some quality time with their special one. n [email protected] With fuchchas making their way to DU shortly, here’s a look at some of the famous love-addas in the campus that serve as the meeting point for young couples LOVERS’ POINT, DESHBANDHU COLLEGE Located behind the campus building, the Lovers’ Point of Deshbandhu College is a space reserved for couples. Sheltered from the piercing glares of strangers, this hub is perfect for lovers to steal some moments of romance. “In the first semester, I was warned by the seniors that in order to be able to venture to the Lovers’ Point, it’s mandatory to be accompanied by a partner,” says Hardik Sharma, a second year student at Deshbandhu College. LOVERS’ POINT, HANRAJ COLLEGE Situated in the heart of the college campus, lined with eateries, resides the famous Lovers’ Point of Hansraj College. Contrary to what one would expect, the Lovers’ Point is always buzzing with activities and is a popular ‘chill out’ spot. Couples romancing each other is a common sight. “The college grapevine says that actor Shah Rukh Khan had proposed to wife Gauri Khan at this very spot,” says Shivam Jangra, student of Hansraj College. FACULTY OF ARTS, NORTH CAMPUS The lawns of Faculty of Arts, located centrally in the North Campus, beckon couples from all sections of the University. The vast green pastures witness couples cozying up to each other, especially in the amber glow of sunsets. “Couples looking for a intimate setting flock to the gardens of the Faculty of Arts. The pull of the vast open cannot be resisted by college sweethearts,” says Radhika Mehrotra, student of Faculty of Arts. It is a favourite haven for couples, who enjoy spending some quiet time in the nature’s lap and don’t mind the company of the notorious monkeys inhabiting the park. “I have been to Bonta Park with my girlfriend a couple of times. It’s a great place for a quick getaway, where you can escape the pressures of academics and lose yourself to the company of your special someone,” says Pankaj Sharma, a second year student of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College. In the bylanes of Old Delhi, when the month of Ramzan begins, the hustle-bustle reaches a new high.
