BACKGROUND Love & Buttercream is a made-to-order, all-from
scratch bakery business located in Metro-Detroit.
We are committed to providing our customers
with baked “greats” that are comforting, warm,
and often times whimsical.
We are inspired by the past, and seek to reinvent
or “twist” the classics to create a different dessert
experience– one that takes you back to the
tastes of childhood. We strive to create desserts
like your grandmother used to make…but better.
We hope to bring our customers high quality
products for any occasion– nostalgic, tasty treats
that can be shared between family and friends,
Are conversation starters and finishers, and look
and taste differently the same.
Love & Buttercream is committed to providing
nothing but the best for it ’s customers. We believe
that a little extra TLC goes a long way when it
comes to showing how much we truly love what
we do. We bake everything from scratch using
only the best ingredients. We source our
ingredients locally and work with natural and
organic products whenever possible. Whether it ’s
a custom cake, a box of truffles, or wedding
cupcakes, we stand by the fact that all you need
is a little bit of Love & Buttercream.

CUPCAKES: All cakes can be made into cupcakes, and can be customized for your event! Cupcakes come standard size or mini.
CAKE POPS: Cake Pops can be made out of any flavor cake. They can be individually packaged and can be custom decorated for your event.
MASON CAKES: Our Mason Cakes are baked directly inside Mason Jars. They come in all flavors, with fresh buttercream frosting throughout…just open up and literally dig in! Our Mason Cakes make great favors for parties, weddings, and events. They can be custom decorated with special ribbons and fabrics, and can even have custom messaging inside.
WEDDING CAKES: We offer both buttercream cakes fondant cakes. To serve you best, we offer a tasting and review our Wedding Cake Menu!

ABOUT BROOKE
Growing up, Brooke spent hours in the kitchen with her mom–stirring batters and licking bowls was a weekly routine in
their house. From a young age, Brooke was a do-it-yourselfer, interested not only in the perfect ingredients, but the perfect presentation. Spending precious time with her grandmother, an avid baker who encouraged Brooke to
appreciate the beauty in a loaf of bread or a chocolate cake, Brooke learned that baking was a mix of science
and art.
Having devoted a few years in college debating between a career in Chemistry and Apparel Design (and
ultimately settling in Marketing), she realized that she had finally found her niche. Though she spent more time in
college eating baked goods than making them, she worked hard on each treat she DID make, and often made excuses to head home and dabble in her parents’ kitchen. After landing in Chicago post-graduation, Brooke spent
Two years working in the Innovations department for a well-known restaurant company. Here, Brooke learned the ins
and outs of the food service industry, and also learned that it was okay to let her creative juices flow. Having a clean Chicago kitchen all to herself, she spent her days being a restaurant creative, and her nights committed to
her baking goals. It was during this time that the vision for Love & Buttercream truly began to take shape. After
starting a blog and receiving heartfelt feedback and interest about what was to come, she used her passion
for unique tastes, creative presentation, and whimsical/rustic styles to throw caution to the wind, and committed to making a name for herself in the pastry world.
She attended the French Pastry School in Chicago,
where she spent six months honing her skills and
refining her techniques. Taught by amazing instructors with extraordinary repertoires and experience, Brooke
gained knowledge that she never knew possible.
Baking (and eating) everything from croissants to
petit fours, marshmallows to wedding cakes, Brooke found a new appreciation and a deeper love for
the pastry world. She worked in several bakeries and
pastry shops in Chicago, before deciding it was time to take yet another leap…back to Michigan
to make Love & Buttercream a reality.

FOUNDED: 2011
FOUNDER: Brooke Wilson, Owner/Executive Pastry Chef/Baker Brooke graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Marketing and
International Business. After graduation, she moved to Chicago and spent two years
working as a Creative Strategist in the Innovations department for a well-known restaurant group. She left her Innovations job and pursued a degree in Pastry. She
obtained her ServSafe Sanitation Certification while at the French Pastry School, and
graduated from the L’Art de la Pâtisserie Professional Pastry & Baking Program.
BUSINESS DESCRIPTION: All from scratch dessert bakery, dedicated to using local, natural and organic
ingredients whenever possible. Specializing in custom wedding cakes, decadent
cupcakes, whimsical cookies, special occasion dessert cakes and a variety of specialty items.
AVAILABILITY: Products available at retail location, and local delivery can also be arranged. We
do our best to exceed all of your dessert and catering needs. From breakfast tray to dessert baskets, wedding favors to sweet tables, we pride ourselves on creating
delicious and hassle-free events.
