Duties of the Security Officer

• Patrolmen are the eyes and ears of the community looking for suspicious persons and actions, or anything which may have the potential for criminal activity.

• Monitoring and challenging suspicious persons entering the area.

• They are in contact with our 24hr Control Monitoring Centre and surrounding armed response vehicles.

• Being on bicycle means that they can patrol places inaccessible by a car. They are also able to detect people hiding behind bushes and trees at street level.

• They will conduct initiatives whereby home owners oversights (e.g. open gates/garage doors/safety gates/vehicle doors, vehicle lights left on etc.) will be reported to our Control Monitoring Centre and logged.

• Armed response patrols increase in the area as the guards will be visited by the armed response officer and the supervisor.
