Currently, The City of Dublin’s detention regulations require detention to be based on a critical year storm method. CRITICAL YEAR STORM & ALLOWABLE RELEASE RATE CALCULATIONS The critical year storm is determined from the percentage change (PC) from the 1 yr Pre-Developed runoff volume and the 1 yr Post-Developed runoff volume. The Pre-Developed 1 yr. Pre-Developed runoff volume is (5,720 CF) and the 1yr Post Developed runoff volume is (17,974 CF). The PC for this area is a 214% increase in runoff volume. Per City of Dublin Detention Regulations this PC equates to a 25- year critical storm. Meaning that a 25-year post-developed storm runoff rate must be no more than the pre-developed 1-year runoff rate and all storms of higher intensity will not exceed their matching pre- developed runoff rates. There is 0.30 Acres of captured offsite flow entering the site from the South. There is a 0.27 Acres of onsite flow that cannot be captured in the detained area. Thus, we have added the offsite flow to our allowable release rate and have deducted the uncapturable onsite flow from the allowable release rate. INTRODUCTION

Proposed Lot #4A is a 1.69 Acre site located in the City of Dublin, Franklin County Ohio that is currently vacant. The property is currently being considered for development as a Hotel Site. See the drainage map for details.

Currently, The City of Dublin’s detention regulations require detention to be based on a critical year storm method.

CRITICAL YEAR STORM & ALLOWABLE RELEASE RATE CALCULATIONS

The critical year storm is determined from the percentage change (PC) from the 1 yr Pre-Developed runoff volume and the 1 yr Post-Developed runoff volume. The Pre-Developed 1 yr. Pre-Developed runoff volume is (5,720 CF) and the 1yr Post Developed runoff volume is (17,974 CF). The PC for this area is a 214% increase in runoff volume. Per City of Dublin Detention Regulations this PC equates to a 25-year critical storm. Meaning that a 25-year post-developed storm runoff rate must be no more than the pre-developed 1-year runoff rate and all storms of higher intensity will not exceed their matching pre-developed runoff rates. INPUT DATA

The site was evaluated using the Rational methodology. See the attached data sheets and maps for the data.

We have provided detention in an underground storage facility comprised two sets of connected chambers 220’ Long Each. The southern chamber is the isolation row which Water quality volume is provided. The chamber outlets to the manhole 3 via an 6” underdrain. Inside manhole 3 is a weir wall with an 6” orifice PVC pipe that will have a cap with a 0.99” whole to achieve water quality draw down time. The cap can be removed for routine maintenance and when clogging occurs. The water quality design sheet is included in the data sheets.

The table below illustrates the Designed Post Developed release rates as they relate to the allowable release rates.

CONCLUSION

The outflows are reduced below the allowable rates with storm water control and the water quality volume of the current regulations. In addition to water quality volume there are additional BMP’s being installed in the forms of pervious pavement in the southern parking area and Bio-Swale/Rain Gardens in the southern islands of the parking lot. These are not factored into the water quality volume provided in the underground basin and will give additional buffer above and beyond current water quality regulations.
