Unrequited Love By. Jay Kim Asking me if I am still alone, All I could do is just smiling like a carefree child. I am in love – I love you so deeply. You look at me pathetically, Introducing me to your flower. You don’t know; I also have a flower like the sun. He is so precious; I hid him so that no one can see. I am the only one who can see him; only me. I will never let these words escape from my mouth. Tears welling up in my eyes; my secret sunflower is you. I don’t want to have him to myself. I am not jealous over who he loves. I just want to be with him and love him. You don’t know; I also have a flower like a passion. He is so precious; I hid him so that no one can see. I am the only one who can see him; only me. I will never let these words escape from my mouth. Tears welling up in my eyes; my secret rose is you. Do you get it now that I am not alone? So don’t look at me pathetically anymore. I will sometime introduce my flower to you. Heart-broken; my unrequited love for you. 1. What does the “flower” mean in this poem? 2. Are the similes/metaphors effective? 3. Is 4 th repeated stanza effective? 4. What is the speaker talking about? 5. How can I improve this poem?
