In 2017, the Los Angeles Travel & Adventure Show provided updated content, a new speaker lineup, and more actionable advice for attendees.
At the Travel Theater, celebrity travel experts Rick Steves, Peter Greenberg, Andrew Zimmern, Johnny Jet and Pauline Frommer covered 2017 travel trends, booking tips and tricks, as well as inspiration for the 1,000 seat theater’s audience.
At the Destination Theater, attendees received destination-specific advice during 15 intimate thirty-minute workshops. In addition to the Destination Theater, the Savvy Traveler Theater provided travel advice ranging from packing and technology tips, to maximizing reward and credit card points.
From a cultural perspective, attendees were able to get a hands-on “taste” for exotic destinations at the Taste of Travel Theater, which featured local chefs from the metro area on hand to provide cooking demonstrations and samples of cultural cuisines. Opposite the Taste of Travel Theater was the Global Beats Stage, which featured 21 dance performances representing countries from around the globe.

Promotion Summary
Broadcast Television
For the fourth year in a row, the LA Event’s Official Broadcast Partner was NBC. This two-week campaign generated about 17.3 million impressions, while secondary buy KTLA, with it’s #1 rated morning show, produced an additional 8.3 million impressions.
In 2017, a multi-faceted, proven marketing campaign was utilized to ensure that the optimal demographic was reached in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. All together, the campaign generated over 79 million impressions.
Radio
CBS Radio provided :30 and :15 second ads on both KNX and KRTH during drive time in both the mornings and afternoons. This schedule targeted drivers on their way to and from work – peak listening times on each station.
Digital Campaign
With the help of media partners NBC, KTLA, Los Angeles News Group and CBS Radio, the LA Travel & Adventure Show benefited from tens of millions of digital impressions across multiple devices. This ultra-targeted campaign put digital ads and news stories in front of recipients on their cell phones, computers and tablets, promoting speakers, exhibitors, sponsors and more.
Newspaper
The LA Travel & Adventure Show partnered with the Los Angeles News Group, running ads in all of their papers within the three weeks leading up to the event. Along with ads in the Sunday editions of the LA Times, travelers all over the LA area were exposed to Travel & Adventure Show ads in 10 different newspapers.
Unparalleled Media Coverage
In the weeks leading up to the event in in the days before, PR efforts yielded TV segments, print and online features, radio interviews and segments, and Friday morning “Media Morning” segements with KTLA, NBC, and CBS.

By engaging celebrity speakers, local and nationalbloggers and industry professionals, @TravAdventurecreated 47.1k impressions. The LA hashtag, #LATravelShow, was used in over 160 posts by 130users, reaching over 400,000 people and createdover 650,000 impressions
INSTAGRAM:
The #LATravelShow reached over 210,000 Los Angeles area Instagram users and creating 365,000 impressions. #LATravelShow was used in over 200 posts throughout the week by LA Travel & Adventure Show attendees, resulting in over 15,000 likes/ video views and over 800 comments.
