These new standards can be challenging to understand and builders, developers, archi- tects and landscapers need to know how to meet the new requirements. To help the development community, the County is sponsoring a series of free half- day training courses designed to give devel- opment professionals the tools and informa- tion needed to comply with the County and State Green Building requirements. The course was designed with the input of experienced industry professionals and will provide answers to tough questions such as: What do the ordinances require commer- cial and residential builders to do? Which projects must comply and how do the requirements differ depending on the type of project? What are some cost-effective ways of meeting those requirements? How do the Los Angeles County codes work with the State’s CALGreen code? What are the best ways to meet low- impact development requirements to capture storm water runoff and to design drought-tolerant landscapes? And finally, how can projects comply with the above requirements cost effectively?
