At our last secretariat meeting, we agreed to postpone the Men’s Weekend that was scheduled for February. The timing was not good for most people, and as a consequence we didn’t get enough men to commit to attend. They weren’t able to get time off work and so forth. I tried my best by putting articles in the church bulletins to see if we could get more men, but that didn’t get many results.

We are going to reschedule the Men’s weekend to August. 10th through August 13th, and it will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Hall. Everyone needs to work together to pray

and persevere. Pray, pray, pray that men are called to say yes, to attending a weekend this August. We also have to see who we can sponsor. I think we are lacking in that area.

Applications can be printed with sponsor sheets and guidelines at www.YoungstownCursillo.org They haven’t been uploaded to the new our website as of yet. (The new website is www.YoungstownCursillo.com). You can see recent newsletters on the new website.

Let us open our hearts in this new year of 2017, and “Make a friend, Be a friend, and bring that friend to Christ.” Christ has called us to be leaders in our daily lives. With His grace and His Holy Spirit, let’s do the job he gave us.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ -

We are planning a Day of Reflection to take place on March 25th, 2016 at Christ Our Savior Parish/St. Nicholas Parish in Struthers, Ohio. This will be open to anyone who is Catholic. Attendees don’t necessarily have to be a Cursillista. The location will be in the lower church. Registration will begin at 8 am and a Continental Breakfast will be served. Morning prayer will be in the Chapel At 9 am. Lunch will be served, and the day will end approximately at 3:30 pm so that you will have to attend Saturday Mass at your own parish if you wish.. Those of you who wish to attend 4:00 pm mass at St. Nicholas are very welcome to do so.

The cost will be $10.00 per person to defray the cost of the breakfast, lunch, and supplies. Please send your reservation in by March 11th. Same as last year, this will be open to non-cursillistas so bring a friend or two. If we have any hardship cases and you cannot afford the $10.00, please contact Loretta Nagel (Phone: 330-501-4611or Email: LorettaNagel@gmail.com) or fill out the registration form below with a note. We don’t want anyone to miss this because of the fee.

We would like to see as many Cursillistas as possible attend the Day of Reflection, as we haven’t had one since last year. We are trying to bring Cursillo ALIVE again and build it back up so we can have vibrant Ultreyas and have our Weekends. Please pray about coming to the Day of Reflection and rediscover the movement. We will pray, sing joyful songs, listen to talks and reaffirm our faith. Hope to see you there.

Bible Vigils BI-LINGUAL ULTREYA

Save the date,Thursday, March 9th, we will be having

a bi-lingual Mass and Utreya to follow at Our Lady of

Mt. Carmel Basilica. Mass will begin at 7 p.m. We

need to support our Spanish community and they will

support the English community. The Secretariat met

with Phil Gonzalez and many things were talked about,

this is one of many ideas, and we are going to start

with the bi-lingual Mass and Ultreya. Please try to

attend. We welcome the Spanish community back and

look forward to working together.
