Being a son of a Diplomat, I have had my fairshare of travelling and living abroad in various

countries including Saudi Arabia, Turkey,

England and Jamaica, which has induced a

penchant for Travelling and Exploring in me.

Apart from the fact that I will be associated with

a ‘Sophisticated’ Brand, my prime reason to be

with L’Oreal is the growth path that I foresee for

myself through L’Oreal’s Constant growththrough Strategic Sales and Marketing.

The Acquisitions of several Top Brands like

Ralph Lauren, Diesel, Vichy to name a few,speaks volumes of what L’Oreal is capable of as

an Organization and what it can offer to its

Consumers.



As an Intern at L’Oreal, I have sincere

expectations of imbibing the requisite skills to

be able to Analyze a certain problem or task in

hand, and have the flexibility to Experimentwith my thought process and ideas.

Since I will be in the nascent stage in the sphere

of Sales and Marketing, I would also expect myideas to be carefully gauged in order to improve

them so as to meet the required expectations



As an Intern, I would without a second thoughtprefer Sales over Marketing.

The Reasons are quite vivid in my mind. Accordingto me, Sales gives you a practical insight to what isthe thought process of individual Customers. Nowwith so many abundant options available, everyCustomer represents a Market, and to be able to tapin their mind, Sales would give me that opportunity.Only when I would know my Consumers better, willI be able to do the Right Marketing and only when Isee through the eyes of a Sales Person, will I be ableto eliminate any obstacles that might hinder my

Marketing.



As soon as I recall the products of L’Oreal, the first product that popsin my mind, and hence associate myself with is Maybelline.

Not that I use any of its Products obviously, but the 2nd half of theTag line, “Maybe She’s born with it. Maybe it’s Maybelline” alwaysstrikes a chord in my head. Maybe it’s Maybelline gives me theperception of ‘Experimenting’. After all the travelling and 15 monthsof Work experience as an HR that I have garnered, I have realized, toprogress, the need for first tapping into your interest and thenexploring and experimenting in that field is necessary. Despite anengineering degree, I ventured into the realm of Human Resourcesto experiment with my Gregarious Nature and pursue a field thatwould involve a lot of Interaction and Decision making



My first significant Accomplishment would be the time I got through DCE(Delhi College of Engineering). I was still acclimatizing to the IndianEducation system after I returned from London. I sacrificed a lot of time tocatch up and simultaneously prepare for some of the toughest competitionpapers in this country.

Second Significant Accomplishment would be when I became an Employeeof Aon Hewitt. I went ahead by not availing any company during myplacement season since I had an Interactive role such as Sales andMarketing or Human Resources in mind rather than a job in a TechnicalDomain. As a fresher I struggled to find an opportunity in an MNC for thesekind of roles. So just to gain relevant experience, I started off with a startupkeeping the compensation factor at bay and eventually got a job as an HR inthe Talent Acquisition Team of a leading HR Consulting MNC after the

Startup. Third Significant Accomplishment would be definitely my admission into

IIM Indore. I gave the CAT exam twice prior to my admission, but receivedno calls. But somehow during my third attempt, I managed my Work – LifeBalance and prepared appropriately for the competitive exams and here Iam



There was an incident during my work life. When I cameout of my office, I noticed a little girl firmly held by herFather while they were walking. The girl refused tobudge since she had her eyes and innocent heart set at atoy that she spotted on the street. The sight of the tearsthat she shed were so painful that I went ahead andbought that Toy that she had been craving for andpresented it to her. Before I gave her the toy, I told her tostop crying and hug her Father first. You should alwayslisten to your Father and be a good girl, I continued. Thesecond she became quite, maybe because of the sight ofa stranger, I gave her the toy. Delighted she was indeedand that sight made my Day. So you may also say that Idid something different for myself that day as well, sincethat was the happiest moment for me the entire day. Asense of contentment flowed through me, which is allthat matter in the end.
