RELIEVING PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
This week we welcome to our school Mr Christopher Cash. Mr Cash is completing his Masters of Teaching at The University of Newcastle and will be working with Mr Blyth and 5/6BB for the remainder of the term.
On Thursday, Mr Blyth, Mr Cash and 12 Stage 3 students will be competing in the MiniME StarLAB Rover challenge at Callaghan College Waratah Campus. Students will be using the block coding site Scratch to navigate their robots around a city scape. Best of luck to our students and many thanks to Mr Blyth for his organisation for this event. Last Friday was the final session of the Solar Car Challenge at Callaghan College Wallsend Campus. Linkin, Cameron, Crystal and Holly represented Maryland PS proudly and took out third place. Congratulations!
Lastly, a reminder regarding the variation to staff development day in Term 3. All staff and students will return to school on Monday, 22 July. Staff development day will be held on Monday, 19 August. Students will not attend school on this day.
Have a great week!

FUNDRAISING NEWS Woolworths Earn and Learn Maryland Public School is registered for this campaign which runs until Tuesday, 25 June 2019, only three weeks remain. The goal
we have set is 20,000 stickers and at the moment we have collected just over 2,300 with plenty more needed. Sticker sheets are available adjacent to the collection box that is located near the school office for the deposit of these stickers. Tell your relatives, friends and workmates that you are collecting these for your children and let’s see what wonderful educational equipment we can earn for our school. Collection boxes for Maryland Public School are also located at the following local Woolworths stores; Glendale, Jesmond and Warabrook. Keep up all that shopping and collect them now!!!
Thompson’s Pie Plus Other Products Drive These order forms were sent home last week to tempt your taste buds and those of family members, friends and work colleagues. A variety of bakery items have been offered to pop into lunch boxes, or lighten the preparation of evening meals. Simply fill out the order sheet (even ask grandma, the neighbours or your workmates to support our school) and gather the funds from each person placing an order. Orders and payment are due back at school before Friday, 21 June 2019. Items will be packaged up and ready to be collected from the school hall on Tuesday, 2 July 2019 from 2.45pm.
If you are able, free and willing to assist with the compilation of these orders on delivery day, kindly leave your details at the office.
Appreciate your support and consideration with this event.
