A message To our members
GOVERNOR’S MESSAGE SENIOR REGENT’S
MESSAGE
At the Moose International Convention in Tampa, our Lodge was fortunate to receive the Premier Lodge
Award, one of the two lodges in our District to do so. Thank you all for making it possible and congratulations
to all who support our lodge. The no smoking proposal did not pass, so there is no change in the smoking policy,
at this time. We were also awarded the 2nd place award for Journalism (Moose Call), congratulations Tara!
For those of you who would rather have your Moose Call received via e-mail rather than snail mail,
please let the office know.
While in Florida we did have an opportunity to visit Moosehaven where we got to meet our Moosehaven
Grandparents. They were extremely happy being there and showed us their apartment and the new Centennial
project. The walls are ready to be raised and put together. It will be a big improvement for the
residents that will occupy the new facility upon completion.
Fraternally yours,
Joe Zenkus
Administrators Report
This is being written July 13th, nearly half way
through a very busy month. Already past is Moose In-
ternational Convention, Tampa, Florida, 4th of July (a
successful fireworks sale thanks to Travis and all his
volunteers). Up coming at our lodge is a meeting of the
Higher Degree, a Moose Legion Conferral, a District
Meeting and a party for our new Collegian and Star Re-
corder. And as you read this that is all history. And
even though it was hot and humid at convention it was
as always informative.
One of the interesting things we learned was that
our Director General Scott Hart went out like the TV
series Under Cover Boss, to see for himself what the
average lodge was like. He was in Oregon, Washing-
ton, Tennessee, West Virginia, and many other places.
Some were good, some not so, and some really bad. So
I ask that each of you, all lodge and chapter members, if
you meet someone new in the lodge, man or woman,
young or old treat them with respect and make a friend.
Bartenders and door people keep checking those cards.
And please folks be proud to show your card. If
Brother Hart should come here I want our lodge to be at
the top of his good list.
One last thing, Sunday August 6 is Brother Joe
Zenkus’s Pilgrim Presentation at 1pm. The Pilgrim Rit-
ual Team Will preside.
Till next month,
Gary Gildemeister Gov
ALOHA! Yes, it’s almost luau time
again. Tickets are on sale now for the August
12th luau with the Catfish Hunter Band. Look
for the decorated table in the lobby to get your
tickets early. Tickets are $25 each and will fea-
ture roasted pig, turkey, and a lot of other great
food! There will not be reserved seating this
year so make sure you get here early!
I want to congratulate Donna Martinez
who earned the title “Star Recorder” while at
the Tampa convention. Bobbie Olivar also be-
came our newest Collegiate. Great job ladies,
you make us proud!
I have chosen Pat Vasquez as this
month’s “Special Moosette.” Pat helped cover
the WOTM office, she is always working in the
kitchen, and willing to fill in whenever and
wherever she is needed. Thank you, Pat for all
you do!

Congratulations to our new Collegian, Bobbie Olivar and our new Star Recorder, Donna Martinez. We are so proud of your work. These are well deserved honors-both! Thank you Marilyn Beam for graciously accepting the leadership role for Academy of Friendship. Your enthusiasm and creativity makes you an excellent choice as a team leader! We must raise enough money to send 8 new Friendship matriculates to State Con-vention in March to receive their degree. With Marilyn as our leader I know we can do it! The next Friendship meeting will be in Carmella Perkins hummingbird back yard. This will be a potluck. We will meet at the lodge at 5:30pm to carpool to her house.
-Janie Hood
Thank You!
