AFFECT VS. EFFECT
These words have a lot in common they both look and sound alike but the difference between the two is: • Affect is a verb. It means to produce a change in or influence something. Ex. How does the crime affect you?
• Effect is a noun that can also be used as a verb. It means a change that occurred.
Ex. What effect did loses the Super Bowl have on the Steelers?
ALLUSION VS. ILLUSION• An Allusion mean to be indirect Ex. Her blog made an allusion to the authors past.• An Illusion mean to have a false idea of something and or someone Ex. They have an illusion that I am very wealthy.
PRINCIPLE VS. PRINCIPAL
LOSE VS. LOOSE• Lose- unable to find Ex. Did you lose your car keys.• Loose- not tight Ex. Is the tie to loose.

• Precede means be earlier in time; go back further
Ex. Stone tools precede bronze tools.
• Proceed means to advance; go on
