MEN ’S CROSS COUNTRY EVE NT — SATU RDAY, NOVEMBER 16
The Men’s Cross Country is the last scheduled golf event of the year. The event will be a 10:30 shotgun on Sat-
urday, November 16, with a great hot lunch to follow in the Janssen room. The Pro Shop will make the pairings.
Play will be straight alternate shot. Our course is three holes and will be as follows…
First tee to fourth green
Fifth tee to 10th green
11th tee to 18 green

Congratulations to the 2013 Ellis Cup Cham-
pions, Jake and J. Keefe Ellis! The team of
Ellis and Ellis managed to keep the Cup in
the family by edging out the team of Scott
Oehrle and David Koi. Congratulations to
both teams who each were victorious in their
respective six matches to make it to the fi-
nals. The Ellis Cup is a season long tourna-
ment that started with 64 teams. Ellis Cup Champions, Jake Ellis, and J. Keefe Ellis are congratulated
by runners-up Scott Oehrle and David Koi.

The Longue Vue Luncheon Bridge Club that premiered last April has been helping to keep mem-
bers and their guests stay mentally sharp, while enjoying the world's most popular card game and
one of the best luncheon buffets in Pittsburgh. The game was conceived by and is hosted by
LVC member Jane Weiss, who helps ensure that the players have a good time. Every Thursday
at 9:45 a.m. John Bernhard, ACBL Certified Director, gives a half hour free lesson
to help the players improve their game. The ACBL sanctioned game starts at
10:30 a.m. with a luncheon break in the Janssen Room at 12:30 p.m. For more

Looking for a sport to enjoy as the air turns brisk? The Longue
Vue Shooting Ground offers skeet, trap and 5 stand for your sport-
ing pleasure. The Shooting Ground is open on Saturdays from
11:00 to 4:00 p.m. and Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. The Club
has guns, vests, safety glasses, ear protection and ammunition
available for your use. Walt Oggier, our shooting instructor and
attendant, is available to work with shooters of all ages and expe-
rience levels. He may be contacted through the Club at (412) 793-2232.
SUNDAY BRUNCH AT LONG U E VU E - SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3
Come out and enjoy Sunday Brunch at the Club. Brunch will be served from 10:30 a.m. to
2:30 p.m. Enjoy a variety of breakfast and lunch favorites sure to put a
smile on your face. This is a great way to enjoy a meal with friends and
family after reading the Sunday paper or before the theater or big game.
The cost of the Sunday Brunch Buffet is $18.95 for adults and $9.95 for
kids ages 4 -12. Children three and under eat for free!
Congratulations to Derek DeJidas our First Assistant Golf Profes-
sional on being selected as the 2013 Tri State PGA Assistant Pro-
fessional of the Year. Derek was selected from among the pool of
nominees by the Board of Directors of the Tri State PGA. Derek
was recognized for being an outstanding Club Fitter, Teacher, and
for his service on the Tri State PGA Assistants Sub-Committee.
This has been a great year for Derek, as he was also inducted into
the Penn Hills Sports Hall of Fame this past spring. Other honors
include being named to the PGA President’s Council on Growing
the Game in 2005, 2006 and 2009, for his work with junior pro-
grams. Derek also represented the Tri State PGA in the 2006 Assis-
tants National Championship. Derek is a graduate of Penn State
University’s Professional Golf Management Program (PGM), where he earned the 2001-2002
PGM Vardon Trophy for the lowest tournament scoring average and was named the 2002-
2003 PGM Player of Year. Derek and his wife, Melissa, currently reside in Churchill.

A special wine tasting dinner awaits you on Friday, November 15, begin-
ning at 7:00 p.m. Enjoy relaxed conversation with friends, hors d’oeuvres
and Champagne in the living room. The Chef has prepared a five course
dinner, showcasing fare from the Pacific Northwest with wines from the
same region. Savor courses that will feature Pacific Chinook king salm-
on, South Puget Sound Kumamoto oysters, Oregon mallard duck, and
braised Kobe short ribs. Among the wines showcased this evening are
an Oregon Pinot Gris, Washington Chardonnay, Washington Merlot, Na-
pa Cabernet and Washington Reisling.
Whether you are a wine aficionado or a novice, you are sure to savor the
intricate flavors of each plate presented when paired with a specially se-
lected wine. Space is limited for this incredible culinary experience. Please make reservations
by calling the club at 412-793-2232. The cost is $75.00 per person.

Plan to celebrate the bounty of the season and share Thanksgiving
Dinner at Longue Vue with the special people in your life. Everyone
at your table may select their favorite entrée from the Chef’s specially
created menu. Each dinner is served with your choice of soup or sal-
ad and dessert. There will be special selections for children 12 and
under. Seating is available from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. Please call the
Club at 412-793-2232 for reservations. $27.95 for adults and $8.95
for children 12 and under.
For those of you who want to enjoy Thanksgiving Dinner in their
homes and enjoy the company of family and friends, let Longue Vue
prepare dinner for you. Thanksgiving to Go is a great option to en-
joy at home or take to the home of a relative or friend. Whether you order a favorite side or a
complete turkey dinner, our culinary staff will ensure you enjoy every bite. Leave the cooking to
Longue Vue, we can do everything but the dishes as you spend time enjoying the company of
those you love on this special holiday. A Thanksgiving to Go order from is included in this

Bring Your Bunch to Lunch on Fridays, December 13 and 20
Enjoy carved sirloin of beef, herb roasted turkey, pan seared Atlantic salm-
on, mushroom dusted free range chicken breast, Oriental shrimp and noo-
dle salad, princess salad, honey roasted chicken and pecan salad, Mesclun
greens with berries, pasta carbonara, pasta primavera, Asiago cheese ravi-
oli with pomadora sauce, rustic bread display and a bountiful display of des-
serts. This a great way to entertain friends, office staff and neighbors. The
Club is beautifully decorated, holiday music fills the air and the delicious
buffet will please everyone. Holiday Lunch Buffet runs from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. The cost
for Bring Your Bunch to Lunch is $24.50 per person.
Holiday Family Brunch on Sunday, December 15
Gather those you love to enjoy a Longue Vue family tradition. Enjoy omelets made to order,
Vancouver Smoked salmon quiche, carved Virginia ham, zesty mahi mahi, favorite breakfast
items, pastries, salads, vegetables and holiday desserts. Have your picture taken with San-
ta. There will be special activities for the kids and smiles everywhere.
Holiday Family Dinner Buffet on Sunday, December 15
The Chef will slowly roast the prime rib of beef and citrus turkey breast, both carved to your
specifications. Savor olive oil poached Block Island swordfish, seasonal vegetables, festive
array of salads and a sweet finish with favorite holiday desserts.
New Year’s Eve on Tuesday, December 31
Don’t forget about our New Year’s Eve Dining as the Chef has prepared an upscale a la
carte menu suited to welcoming the new year!
For those of you who enjoy a lively party - our Family New Year’s Eve Party will be from
5:30 – 9:00 p.m. Dance to music provided by the DJ, who will lead us in the countdown to
the New Year at 8:30 p.m. Savor Carved New York sirloin of beef, ancho grilled Atlantic
salmon, Rosemary pork loin with sauerkraut, herb crusted free range chicken breast, chive
whipped potatoes, harvest blend wild rice pintaniere, green beans with toasted almonds, ba-
by carrots with broccoli and assorted salads. There will be children’s dinner favorites, in-
cluding mac and cheese, chicken planks, ranch seasoned fries, cheeseburger sliders and
pretzel bread with cheese sauce. Everyone will scream for ice cream as they enjoy a load-
ed Ice Cream Sundae Bar along with other desserts. Please join us as revelers of all ages
ring in the New Year at Longue Vue!
LVC HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE
This holiday season, our membership and staff will have the oppor-
tunity to share our good fortune with the community by bringing a
new toy, coat, or jacket to share with a less fortunate child in need.
Please bring your coat, jacket or wrapped toy and place under the
tree at Longue Vue. If bringing a toy, please place a label on the package indicating wheth-
er it is for a boy or girl and the appropriate age range. We will be collecting these items
throughout the month of December and during the Family Holiday Parties. Thank you.
