Lock Wild Alex Li
I would show how to calculate a slot game RTP with LOCK WILD feature (LinesCombination limited) in this document. (Do not discuss WayCombination in this document, there would be a little bit different) Outlines :
Part 1 Show how to calculate single spin full line RTP with some locked wilds Part 2 Show how to calculate whole free game RTP which wild would be
locked following some rules.
Part 1: We usually calculate single spin RTP if this game is LinesCombination. It’s because that RTP of each line definitely equals to the others. However when there is locked wild, the RTP of each line would not always be the same. We need all of them to calculate the average RTP of all lines Calculating “single line RTP” under the following condition: There is ● 0 locked wild on this line C(5,0) = 1 RTP set ● 1 locked wild on this line C(5,1) = 5 RTP set ● 2 locked wild on this line C(5,2) = 10 RTP set ● 3 locked wild on this line C(5,3) = 10 RTP set ● 4 locked wild on this line C(5,4) = 5 RTP set ● 5 locked wild on this line C(5,5) = 1 RTP set Totally 32 RTP set, those are “single line RTP” set under all possible conditions. Let RTP XY {X: X wilds on the line, Y: reels Y with wild} stands for those 32 RTP So, there are ● RTP 0 ● RTP 11 ~ RTP 15 ● RTP 212 ~ RTP 245 ● RTP 3123 ~ RTP 3345 ● RTP 41234 ~ RTP 42345 ● RTP 512345 With all RTP XY we can easily calculate single spin full line RTP with some locked wilds on any positions.

Example: If the line table is as below
If wild locked on ”R1 up” and ”R3 mid”, single spin RTP would be (9* RTP 0 + 5*RTP 11 + 7*RTP 13 + 4*RTP 213) / 25 Part 2: In part 2 I would show how to calculate whole free game RTP which wild would be locked following some rules. For most conditions: Calculating every single spin full line RTP with the conclusion of Part 1. If the probability of a position with locked wild is neither 0% nor 100%, still calculate it with the concept of expected value. EX 1: The free game would turn some certain positions to locked wild in the Nth spin. It’s simple. Just calculate every single spin RTP according to the scattered locked wild. EX 2: The free game would turn some random positions to locked wild in the Nth spin. Calculate every single spin RTP according to the probability of each position with locked wild. EX 3: (There is an excel math for an example similar to this, http://goo.gl/ovbrRn ) Free Game rule : 10 spins and wild lock till the end when appearing on any position Reels Length : 50/50/50/50/50 Wild amount : 1/1/1/1/1 P(wild on single position) : 1/50 = 2% P(wild not on single position) : 1 2% = 98% Let Yn stand for probability of single position with no wild locked in (n+1)th spin So, Yn = 98%^n Because (1~n spin) are all without wild on this position. Let Xn stand for probability of single position with wild locked in (n+1)th spin So, Xn = 1Yn = 198%^n

Since Probabilities of Wild Appearing are all the same for all positions, we know that Xn and Yn can represent for all position. The next goal is calculating every single spin RTP expected value. Since RTP of each single line are all the same, just calculate single line RTP. Take 2nd spin for example. According to Part 1 we can calculate and get the RTP set below ● RTP 0, ● RTP 11 ~ RTP 15 ● RTP 212 ~ RTP 245 ● RTP 3123 ~ RTP 3345 ● RTP 41234 ~ RTP 42345 ● RTP 512345 By theory of expected value, EV is Sum of { (RTP XY)*P(RTP XY) for XY } In 2nd spin, P(locked wild) = 2%, P(no locked wild) = 98%, so we can get ● P(RTP 0) = 98%^5 ● P(RTP 11 ~ RTP 15) = 2%*98%^4 ● P(RTP 212 ~ RTP 245) = 2%^2*98%^3 ● P(RTP 3123 ~ RTP 3345) = 2%^3*98%^2 ● P(RTP 41234 ~ RTP 42345) = 2%^4*98%^1 ● P(RTP 512345) = 2%^5 Then we can easily calculate the EV of 2nd spin This method can also calculate all free spin RTP and then get whole free game RTP Even if P(wild on single position) are not all the same for all reels, it is still easy. I have calculated it in http://goo.gl/ovbrRn PS : ● RTP 11 ~ RTP 15
= RTP 11, RTP 12, RTP 13, RTP 14, RTP 15
● RTP 212 ~ RTP 245 = RTP 212, RTP 213, RTP 214, RTP 215, RTP 223, RTP 224, RTP 225, RTP 234, RTP 235, RTP 245
● RTP 3123 ~ RTP 3345 = RTP 3123, RTP 3124, RTP 3125, RTP 3134, RTP 3135, RTP 3145, RTP 3234, RTP 3235, RTP 3245, RTP 3345
● RTP 41234 ~ RTP 42345 = RTP 41234, RTP 41235, RTP 41245, RTP 41345, RTP 42345
